According to the Congressional Research Service, previous administrations all completed new programs in order to replace expired plans. <\/p>\n<p>The Department <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/energy-environment\/interior-proposes-new-lease-sales-in-gulf-of-mexico\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">proposed<\/a> Its new program, which covers five years, was launched in July 2022 after the expiration of its previous plan.
