Johnson never testified at any of the hearings to review the events.<\/p>\n<p>According to the veteran of 22 years, any information concerning possible disturbances that occurred on this day was not disseminated from law enforcement agencies to frontline officers or to their superiors.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>&#8220;We should have been better prepared that day, and we could have been better prepared that day if the information was disseminated like it was supposed to be,&#8221; He said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Johnson and other officers were outside the building with Johnson. Johnson had sought guidance from their superiors during the events. However, they did not receive a response from Yogananda, Capitol Police Chief Assistant.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson made it his top priority to ensure the safety of lawmakers that day. He was not receiving any response from his superiors so he took action. He made his way to the chambers, and led lawmakers to safety.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson stated that Trump supporters had put a Make America Great Again cap on Johnson&#8217;s head as he made his way into the building. The hat was still on his head when Johnson returned home. &#8220;self-preservation&#8221; And &#8220;de-escalation&#8221; He was moving through the crowd.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>&#8220;I couldn&#8217;t say what would have happened walking through that crowd without it,&#8221; Johnson spoke.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>After footage of him in the MAGA cap outside of Capitol Building caught national attention, his career ended.<\/p>\n<p>The 22-year-old veteran of the military was suspended indefinitely by his superiors after the video was made. I was never asked to testify,&#8221; He replied. &#8220;I was never asked by anybody connected to the January 6 Committee to testify. I asked myself why every day, and every day I might have a different answer.
