He urged Brodeur to immediately withdraw it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The idea that bloggers criticizing a politician should register with the government is insane,&#8221; Gingrich wrote. &#8220;It is an embarrassment that it is a Republican state legislator in Florida who introduced a bill to that effect. He should withdraw it immediately.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">It is absurd to suggest that bloggers who criticize politicians should register with government. Keep the compass set to true north. We will stand strong. We will hold the line. We won&#8217;t back down.
