Photo by Dia Dipasupil\/Getty Images New York Comic Con<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>OAN Geraldyn Berry<br \/>UPDATED 6:28 PM PT \u2013 Monday, March 6, 2023<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Boy Meets World&#8221; Ben Savage is a rising star who has announced his candidacy for Congress in California&#8217;s thirty-nine districts.<sup>Th<\/sup>\u00a0District of Congress <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1\" style=\"min-width: 320px; min-height: 50px;  text-align: center;\">  \t<script>  \t\tgoogletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1'); });  \t<\/script>  <\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>The former child star is running for Representative\u00a0Adam Schiff&#8217;s\u00a0(D-Calif.) congressional seat. This is because the Democrat is now running for California\u2019s open Senate seat, currently occupied in California by Senator Dianne Fenstein (D.Calif.). At the end of her term, she will be retiring.<\/p>\n<p>He posted the announcement to Instagram Monday.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>&#8220;I am running for Congress because it&#8217;s time to restore faith in government by offering reasonable, innovative, and compassionate solutions to our country&#8217;s most pressing issues,&#8221; Savage said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>&#8220;I am a proud Californian, union member and longtime resident of District 30 who comes from a family of unwavering service to our country and community,&#8221; He wrote. &#8220;I firmly believe in standing up for what is right, ensuring equality and expanding opportunities for all.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Savage is a veteran politician.<\/p>\n<p>Savage registered in January to run for the office of Democrat 30.<sup>Th<\/sup> District. California District includes West Hollywood and Burbank as well as a part of Pasadena. This district is administered by the Federal Election Commission.<\/p>\n<p>The 42-year old ran for the West Hollywood City Council seat last year. According to his campaign website money was one of his highest priorities.<\/p>\n<p>Reports claim that the actor studied political science at Stanford University.
