On Sunday, the governor of Florida spoke at two California events. DeSantis&#8217; proposal to the legislature includes sweeping changes in school choice and gun laws. Most Californians believe he isn&#8217;t. <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/californians-do-not-want-newsom-running-president-poll\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">do not want him running<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>He has stated that he does not seek higher office for 2024 but he could be an alternative candidate should Biden decide not to run. Newsom has targeted Republicans in other states such as DeSantis and argued that the state is too Republican. <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/gavin-newsom-ad-encouraging-floridians-move-california\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">true beacon of freedom<\/a>.
