This effectively overturns a ruling of the federal appeals court that found at least one plaintiff had the right to sue for the incident. The case will be heard in the lower court.<\/p>\n<p><b><u><a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/eric-adams-defends-prayers-schools-remarks-faith-who-i-am\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ERIC ADAMS DEFENDS REMARKS ABOUT PRAYERS IN SCHOOLS, SAYS &#8216;FAITH IS WHO I AM&#8217;<\/a><\/u><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Republican-appointed Justices <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/neil-gorsuch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Neil Gorsuch<\/a>  <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/clarence-thomas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Clarence Thomas<\/a> Brief opinions were written over denial of hearing the case. Gorsuch expressed support for the city, but said that the case should be heard by lower courts. Thomas dissented, signaling that he wants the high court to hear the case.<\/p>\n<p>Ocala officials organized the prayer gathering in response to three victims of stray bullets.<\/p>\n<p>Ocala Police Department published a social media letter with signatures from the chief of police and an activist connected to a Baptist church.
