Kim said that &#8220;working hand in hand with the community,&#8221; The design of the memorial would be an important part of the process.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This needs to be community-led, because the community knows what it needs,&#8221; She spoke.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4180359\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/localimages\/Irvine-Civic-Center_JF_3_01122021-1200x800.jpg\"><figcaption><\/figcaption><\/a> On January 12, 2021, Irvine&#8217;s Civic Center was completed. (John Fredricks\/The Epoch Times).<\/figure>\n<p>Larry Agran, Councilor, stated that the memorial was the first in the park and suggested that more planning be done to make it possible for others.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Communities are going to come forward and they&#8217;re going to ask for recognition and a place in our Great Park \u2026 we need to be prepared for that,&#8221; He stated.<\/p>\n<p>Irvine resident said that he is a US Navy veteran and son of a genocide survivor.
