Double down, naturally.<\/p>\n<p>Harrelson \u2014 who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-news\/snl-woody-harrelson-covid-19-mandates-conspiracies-1235334744\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">describes<\/a> As an example, &#8220;anarchist, Marxist, ethical hedonist, non-discriminatory empath, epistemological deconstructionist Texan&#8221; \u2014 ripped the ongoing COVID-19 protocols put in place for movie making in the early days of the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Now to get an indie done? Especially with all the Covid protocols \u2014 which, to me, are rather absurd. I don&#8217;t know what&#8217;s going to happen,&#8221; Harrelson said that in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/interactive\/2023\/02\/27\/magazine\/woody-harrelson-interview.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interview<\/a> The New York Times<\/p>\n<p>The Times, who has been pitching everything, from mandatory masks and nationwide lockdowns to national lockdowns, had to know. &#8220;What&#8217;s absurd about the Covid protocols?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The fact that they&#8217;re still going on!&#8221; Harrelson claimed.\u00a0&#8220;I don&#8217;t think that anybody should have the right to demand that you&#8217;re forced to do the testing, forced to wear the mask and forced to get vaccinated three years on. I&#8217;m just like, Let&#8217;s be done with this nonsense. It&#8217;s not fair to the crews. I don&#8217;t have to wear the mask. Why should they? Why should they have to be vaccinated? How&#8217;s that not up to the individual?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Harrelson was aware that liberal heads would certainly explode. &#8220;I shouldn&#8217;t be talking about this [expletive]. It makes me angry for the crew. The anarchist part of me, I don&#8217;t feel that we should have forced testing, forced masking and forced vaccination. That&#8217;s not a free country. Really I&#8217;m talking about the crew. Because I can get out of wearing a mask. I can test less. I&#8217;m not in the same position they&#8217;re in, but it&#8217;s wrong. It&#8217;s three years. Stop.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Harrelson shared a story on SNL about smoking cannabis in New York City&#8217;s Central Park. &#8220;the craziest script&#8221; Request a movie pitch.<\/p>\n<p><b data-stringify-type=\"bold\"><a class=\"c-link\" href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-stringify-link=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" data-sk=\"tooltip_parent\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-5857\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So the movie goes like this,&#8221; He stated. &#8220;The biggest drug cartels in the world get together and buy up all the media and all the politicians and force all the people in the world to stay locked in their homes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;And people can only come out if they take the cartel&#8217;s drugs and keep taking them over and over. I threw the script away,&#8221; He laughed. &#8220;I mean, who was going to believe that crazy idea? Being forced to do drugs? I do that voluntarily all day long.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Washington Post was furious and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/arts-entertainment\/2023\/02\/26\/snl-harrelson-covid-vaccine-monologue\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">published<\/a> A piece with the headline &#8220;On SNL, Woody Harrelson pushes popular covid-19 conspiracy theory.&#8221; Naturally, liberal papers fell right for the naysayers.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;\u2018Thank you, @nbcsnl, for Woody Harrelson&#8217;s insipid anti-vax monologue. Who are [you] going to have guest host next week, Scott Baio? Rob Schneider? Kevin Sorbo? Maybe invite Kanye back while you&#8217;re at it,&#8217; wrote Twitter user Lee Goldberg. Another viewer asked: \u2018Does #SNL think just harmless noise? Normalizing #antivaxx conspiracies does real harm!'&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>One Twitter user mocked the MSM for getting all wee-weedy.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Woody Harrelson did it right, and I&#8217;m having fun watching the media confirm his claims.\ud83d\ude02\ud83d\udc47\ud83c\udffc <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/FlvbiezUr6\">pic.twitter.com\/FlvbiezUr6<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Spitfire (@DogRightGirl) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DogRightGirl\/status\/1629828543382274049?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 26, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>However, the COVID-19 protocol narratives have been largely ignored over the past few weeks. The New York Times <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/02\/21\/opinion\/do-mask-mandates-work.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">published<\/a> A piece entitled &#8220;The Mask Mandates Did Nothing. Will Any Lessons Be Learned?&#8221; Bret Stephens, an opinion columnist at the Times who was awarded a Pulitzer Prize in commentary 2013 for his work, wrote it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The most rigorous and comprehensive analysis of scientific studies conducted on the efficacy of masks for reducing the spread of respiratory illnesses \u2014 including Covid-19 \u2014 was published late last month. Its conclusions, said Tom Jefferson, the Oxford epidemiologist who is its lead author, were unambiguous.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;\u2018There is just no evidence that they&#8217; \u2014 masks \u2014 \u2018make any difference,&#8217; he told the journalist Maryanne Demasi. \u2018Full stop.'&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Then a report came out from researchers who had examined the efficacy of citywide COVID vaccine mandates implemented across the United States in 2021 and found \u2014 meh.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;These mandates imposed severe restrictions on the lives of many citizens and business owners,&#8221; The researchers stated in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mercatus.org\/research\/working-papers\/indoor-vaccine-mandates-and-covid-19\">study<\/a> Conducted by George Mason University\u2019s Mercatus Center. &#8220;We find no evidence that the announcement or implementation of indoor vaccine mandates in the cities listed had any significant effect on vaccine uptake, COVID-19 cases, or COVID-19 deaths, and this is largely consistent for all US cities that implemented the mandate,&#8221; The researchers wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Also, a &#8220;COVID-Vaccine Surveillance <a href=\"https:\/\/assets.publishing.service.gov.uk\/government\/uploads\/system\/uploads\/attachment_data\/file\/1057599\/Vaccine_surveillance_report_-_week-8.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Report<\/a>&#8221; Released late last month by UK Health Security Agency, it found that 92% (or 92%) of COVID deaths in the United Kingdom during March were caused by people who were fully vaccinated.<\/p>\n<p>Harrelson may be right.<\/p>\n<p><em>The views expressed in this piece do not necessarily reflect the views of The Daily Wire.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Joseph Curl is a 35-year veteran of politics, having served 12 years as White House correspondent in a national newspaper.
