The assessment was performed for adolescents aged between 12-17.<\/p>\n<p>The CDC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/23692345-cdc-risk-benefit-assessment\">Estimate<\/a> One million doses of this drug over six months could prevent up to 136 hospitalizations and zero to one death. It used outdated, non-peer-reviewed CDC effectiveness estimates. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/mmwr\/volumes\/71\/wr\/mm715152e1.htm\">Study<\/a> Only data was used to analyze adult data. Hospitalization rates are hospitalizations for which COVID-19 was used as an additional reason rather than a primary reason.<\/p>\n<p>Megan Wallace, a CDC representative presented the assessment. The assessment was presented by Megan Wallace, a CDC official. She said that the combination of the potential benefits and the harms to adolescents using the hospitalization rates based on the sensitive analyses makes it clear that we can expect between 31-136 hospitalizations and nine-to-40 ICU admissions. Six months later, there was still no evidence of clinical effectiveness. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/trial-data-for-newly-authorized-covid-19-boosters-based-on-mice-not-humans_4704068.html\">Mice data<\/a> It was used to justify the approval of vaccines.<\/p>\n<p>Moderna and Pfizer have not yet responded to inquiries about when data from their trials might be available.<\/p>\n<p>Pfizer and BioNTech, its partner <a href=\"https:\/\/investors.biontech.de\/news-releases\/news-release-details\/pfizer-and-biontech-submit-us-emergency-use-authorization-0\">Announcement<\/a> It announced on March 1, that it had requested U.S. regulators to approve a bivalent booster vaccine for children younger than 5 years. Based on data from trials, the company claimed that data showed that the bivalent produced more neutralizing antibodies and that its safety profile was similar to the original vaccine.<\/p>\n<p>Multiple members of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices were concerned about the absence of trial data when the CDC presented their risk-benefit analysis. They were also asked if authorities should switch to an annual booster.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I would love to see a study that said, &#8216;okay. You&#8217;ve just received one bivalent vaccine. What&#8217;s the benefit? What is the benefit? And how long will it last?&#8221; Dr. Camille Kotton said, one of the advisors.<\/p>\n<p>Kotton and Dr. Matthew Daley both said they would like to see trials of vaccines.
