Two students organized the event, with funding provided by the Office of Diversity, Equity &#038; Inclusion. The two students,\u00a0Dominic Bayer and Bailey Cordonnier, are affiliated with the school&#8217;s chapter of the conservative Federalist Society.<\/p>\n<p>The school held an after-school event <a href=\"https:\/\/wwws.law.northwestern.edu\/student-life\/events\/eventsdisplay.cfm?i=179959\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Event<\/a> The Federalist Society sponsored the debate between Kleinfeld, Erin Hawley and other federal lawyers on the topic of the abortion pill GenBioPro.\u00a0Hawley, who is the wife of Sen. Josh Hawley and is senior counsel to Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), is an accomplished lawyer.<\/p>\n<p>Gay students in a group\u00a0called OUTlaw launched a campaign to silence the speakers, arguing that &#8220;civility&#8221; This is a racist statement.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As we noted to DEIE staff prior to the event, \u2018civility&#8217; has long been used as a white supremacist dog whistle,&#8221; They said. &#8220;We are pained by DEIE&#8217;s failure to conduct due diligence in awarding a fellowship to Bailey and Dominic and failure to heed LGBTQ+ student leaders when we told DEIE the exact intent behind the civility event.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Students said ADF was objectionable, as the Southern Poverty Law Center considered it to be a violation of human rights. &#8220;hate group&#8221; It was partly because one of its employees said that in 2014, &#8220;The endgame for the homosexual legal agenda&#8221; was unfettered sexual freedom and the pursuit of happiness. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.splcenter.org\/fighting-hate\/extremist-files\/group\/alliance-defending-freedom\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">silencing<\/a> All dissent is welcome.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In response, activists replaced the flyers for the event with bemoaning ones. &#8220;hate groups,&#8221; The Daily Wire obtained the photo. One student claimed that the flyers were left up for three days, despite being in violation of university regulations. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.northwestern.edu\/about\/marketing-communications\/advertising\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">policies<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Flyers that are linked to a <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1Ax3yFlq_rzKV5fneqpMFy-vg_Ho4PgVfMYdIz7e5oCU\/edit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Letter<\/a> Signed by 50 students and 29 campus groups. Students were asked to wear black to commemorate the event.<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Wire was told by a student that Dean Hari Osofky, the Law School&#8217;s Director of Special Events, announced this week that it would use its budget for special events to help subsidize a student. &#8220;Big Gay Dance Party&#8221; Protest the Federalist Society<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Professors at the school have urged students to skip scheduled classes to attend,&#8221; The student stated. &#8220;The event will be held in the Law School&#8217;s central atrium, which students must traverse to reach their classrooms.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The student described: &#8220;listening session&#8221; Osofsky met to discuss the gay dance party at which students demanded that members of the Federalist Society be expelled from public life and denied legal employment.
