This is a comfortable lead over his nearest challengers. <\/p>\n<p>Brandon Johnson, Cook County Commissioner and supported by the Chicago Teachers Union (and other key labor organizations), is currently in second place with 20% of vote. That&#8217;s just over 16,000 votes more than incumbent Mayor Lori Lightfoot. Lightfoot wants to avoid becoming the first elected Mayor to lose a reelection election since Jane Byrne 1983.<\/p>\n<p>Rep.
