Masters was able counter the shortcomings in the popular BMI (Body Mass Index) that does not accurately reflect the state of health by analysing the data over time. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It isn&#8217;t fully capturing all of the nuances and different sizes and shapes the body comes in,&#8221; Masters say of BMI. &#8220;It&#8217;s a reflection of stature at a point in time. That&#8217;s it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Masters discovered that people with excess weight were more likely to die from causes other than their BMI. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For groups born in the 1970s or 1980s who have lived their whole lives in this obesogenic environment, the prospects of healthy aging into older adulthood does not look good right now,&#8221; Masters. <\/p>\n<p>In the same vein, testosterone levels have declined across the board in a population that has been exposed to endocrine-disrupting chemical.
