President Joe Biden takes an image at the DNC headquarters \/ Getty Images    <\/p>\n<p>The White House banned TikTok from all government devices Monday, two years after Donald Trump tried to ban the Chinese spyware program.<\/p>\n<p>The Office of Management and Budget directed all federal agencies to remove TikTok immediately. The rule prohibits exemptions from entire agencies. Only a few exceptions are allowed for research purposes.<\/p>\n<p>The app is still being used by the Chinese Communist Party to gain access to Americans&#8217; personal information.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Anyone with TikTok downloaded on their device has given the CCP a backdoor to all their personal information,&#8221; Rep. Mike McCaul (R. Texas), introduced a bill that would permit President Joe Biden, to ban TikTok from all U.S. devices. &#8220;It&#8217;s a spy balloon into their phone.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Chinese law stipulates that all information collected by companies within the country must be submitted to the CCP.<\/p>\n<p>Trump issued <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalregister.gov\/documents\/2020\/08\/11\/2020-17699\/addressing-the-threat-posed-by-tiktok-and-taking-additional-steps-to-address-the-national-emergency\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.federalregister.gov\/documents\/2020\/08\/11\/2020-17699\/addressing-the-threat-posed-by-tiktok-and-taking-additional-steps-to-address-the-national-emergency&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1677693547922000&#038;usg=AOvVaw2v4cT1k2kRAWZpTS5VLEqC\">Executive order<\/a> In 2020, TikTok was banned. However, the move was stopped by a district court.
