The State Department-backed group gave the group $665,000 between 2020-2021.<br \/>\n<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/restoring-america\/equality-not-elitism\/disinformation-group-secretly-blacklisting-right-wing-outlets-bankrolled-state-department\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Global Engagement Center<\/a><br \/>\n And<br \/>\n<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/restoring-america\/equality-not-elitism\/disinformation-inc-government-backed-organization-sent-315-000-to-group-blacklisting-conservative-news\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Endowment for Democracy<\/a><br \/>\n, a non-profit group<br \/>\n<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/disinformation-inc-state-department-backed-group-blacklisting-conservative-news\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">It has stated it will not continue to fund<\/a><br \/>\n GDI.\n<\/p>\n<p>GDI alleged February 2020<br \/>\n<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.disinformationindex.org\/blog\/2020-2-21-coronavirus-the-makings-of-a-disinformation-pandemic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Report<\/a><br \/>\n dubbed &#8220;Coronavirus: The makings of a disinformation pandemic?&#8221; That &#8220;adversarial narratives&#8221; Emerging as a key &#8220;disinformation tactic.&#8221; The report mentioned Sen.<br \/>\n<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/tom-cotton\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tom Cotton<\/a><br \/>\n (R-AR) For raising the possibility that COVID-19 may have come from a lab on Fox News.\n<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;By broadcasting the Senator&#8217;s words to a national audience, this debunked conspiracy theory is given authority, validation and amplification,&#8221; GDI was included in the report.\n<\/p>\n<p>One month later, GDI released a report in March 2020.<br \/>\n<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.disinformationindex.org\/blog\/2020-3-24-why-is-ad-tech-funding-these-ads-on-coronavirus-conspiracy-sites\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Report<\/a><br \/>\n titled, &#8220;Why is Ad Tech Funding These Ads on Coronavirus Conspiracy Sites?&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>The report was critical of Google and other companies. &#8220;providing ad revenue streams to known disinformation sites peddling coronavirus conspiracies,&#8221; called out the conservative blog <i>American Thinker<\/i> Commentary to be published<br \/>\n<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.americanthinker.com\/articles\/2020\/03\/the_wuhan_virus_escaped_from_a_chinese_lab.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Article<\/a><br \/>\n Title &#8220;The Wuhan Virus Escaped From a Chinese Lab.&#8221; GDI also took aim in the article at a company selling N-95-masks for advertising.\n<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;GDI&#8217;s own content on the lab leak perfectly fits its own definition of &#8216;disinformation,'&#8221; Justin Goodman is White Coat Waste Project&#8217;s senior vice president for advocacy, public policy, and government affairs. Trump&#8217;s move was claimed by the organization &#8220;triggered a second wave of conspiracy lab theories on known disinformation sites&#8221; Advertise in Anonymity and Get Slammed by Companies<br \/>\n<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/canadafreepress.com\/article\/made-in-china1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Article<\/a><br \/>\n In <i>Canada Free Press<\/i> That theory was discussed.\n<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;All these lab conspiracy theories have been fact checked and proven untrue,&#8221; GDI, which links to an<br \/>\n<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/science-environment-52318539\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Article<\/a><br \/>\n The lab leak theory is being questioned. &#8220;The BBC recently debunked evidence of the Wuhan lab conspiracy by breaking down the timeline of events, the protocols in place to protect researchers and civilians from pathogens, and evaluations of [the] lab in Wuhan by U.S. officials.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>GDI has been added: &#8220;As GDI consistently has argued, disinformation spreads across networks and starts out on the fringe, before moving into the mainstream. The case of the Wuhan lab conspiracy clearly shows this phenomenon.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>Danny Rogers was the co-founder of GDI and released this report in March.<br \/>\n<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=reyP2Wg3fqo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">It was<\/a><br \/>\n In an interview with GZERO Media.
