Apple CEO Tim Cook holds an iPhone \/ Getty Images    <\/p>\n<p>The new iPhone feature that slows down the charging speed is a way to slow down climate change, according to technology site PiunikaWeb <a href=\"https:\/\/piunikaweb.com\/2023\/02\/27\/iphone-users-blame-ios-16-1-clean-energy-charging-for-slow-charging-speed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Apple has already activated the feature. &#8220;Clean Energy Charging,&#8221; Any iPhone with operating system 16.1 and higher in the United States. Apple says Clean Energy Charging &#8220;will try to reduce your carbon footprint by selectively charging when lower carbon emission electricity is available.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The feature &#8220;won&#8217;t charge your battery&#8221; as quickly &#8220;if Apple thinks the grid isn&#8217;t using enough solar,&#8221; Ted Frank is an attorney <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tedfrank\/status\/1630017482617499648\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Submitted<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Apple&#8217;s commitment towards combating climate change is only a part of its commitment.
