He revealed that he eventually discovered that stadium telephones could be used outside of the facility by simply pressing the &#8220;Enter&#8221; button. &#8220;9,&#8221; The number was then dialed. Then, when did Montana dial out from the stadium? During warm ups? After the game? He was busy, you know?<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Nope. Montana called in the middle. And who did he call instead? To tell his wife he loved them, he called her.<\/p>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">Montana&#8217;s wife remembers it well. &#8220;\u2018I&#8217;m calling to say I love you.&#8217; And I go, \u2018I love you. Montana was famous for having the ability to divide his attention between the game and other things.<\/p>\n<p>On January 22, 1989, with 3:20 remaining in the Super Bowl and the 49ers pinned at their own 8-yard-line on the wrong end of a 16-13 score, San Francisco&#8217;s Harris Barton became enraged that they were in such a bad position and in danger of losing the championship to the Bengals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">How did Montana handle this ultra-stressful situation? He pointed out actor John Candy in the crowd.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">What a story that was.
