After a tremendous backlash from readers, commentators and others who loved Dahl&#8217;s stories. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.penguin.co.uk\/articles\/company-article\/puffin-announces-the-roald-dahl-classic-collection-to-keep-authors-classic-texts-in-print\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Puffin is announced<\/a> It would also release original texts and woke updates.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;At Puffin we have proudly published Roald Dahl&#8217;s stories for more than forty years in partnership with the Roald Dahl Story Company,&#8221; Francesca Dow, Puffin&#8217;s managing director, said this. &#8220;Their mischievous spirit and his unique storytelling genius have delighted the imaginations of readers across many generations. We&#8217;ve listened to the debate over the past week which has reaffirmed the extraordinary power of Roald Dahl&#8217;s books and the very real questions around how stories from another era can be kept relevant for each new generation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As a children&#8217;s publisher, our role is to share the magic of stories with children with the greatest thought and care. Roald Dahl&#8217;s fantastic books are often the first stories young children will read independently, and taking care for the imaginations and fast-developing minds of young readers is both a privilege and a responsibility. We also recognise the importance of keeping Dahl&#8217;s classic texts in print. By making both Puffin and Penguin versions available, we are offering readers the choice to decide how they experience Roald Dahl&#8217;s magical, marvellous stories.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>There will be seventeen titles published, including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.<em>, <\/em>Matilda<em>, <\/em>The BFG<em>, <\/em>Fantastic Mr Fox<em>, <\/em>James and The Giant Peach, The Witches<em>,\u00a0<\/em>These and many other items. These books will also contain &#8220;archive material relevant to each of the stories,&#8221; The press release said that. They will be made available in the second half of this year.<\/p>\n<p>Puffin had earlier this week announced its collaboration with the Roald Dahl Stories Co., which manages trademarks and copyrights. This collaboration allowed for hundreds of modifications to Dahl&#8217;s original works to be made in order to not offend anyone. The Roald Dahl Story Co. admitted they had worked with Inclusive Minds, which monitors children&#8217;s literature for inclusion, diversity, and accessibility, The Washington Post\u00a0reported. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/news\/2023\/02\/17\/roald-dahl-books-rewritten-offensive-matilda-witches-twits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UK Telegraph<\/a> A list of hundreds of changes made over the years by editors was published.
