Hale shared her story about how she started to drink alcohol at age 14 and how things spiraled out-of-control. She spoke about the number of &#8220;emotional rock bottoms&#8221; She experienced it all.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Dozens, and that&#8217;s why it was so hard because I&#8217;m like \u2018Oh, I thought we went to the depths of hell \u2026 how could it be worse?'&#8221; During the interview, she spoke in an emotional tone.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She said that she hadn&#8217;t yet discussed personal issues in interviews. The podcast interview lasted 90 minutes and also covered Hale&#8217;s struggle with an eating disorder.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I have never talked publicly about being sober \u2013 I have a little over a year of sobriety,&#8221; Hale explained. &#8220;I have been working on getting sober since I was 20; I&#8217;m 33. It took time. It took patience with myself.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I just held on to that belief that the real Lucy came out when she was drinking,&#8221; She went on. &#8220;It also quieted my mind \u2026 my brain just doesn&#8217;t shut off and it&#8217;s exhausting. I was a textbook binge drinker, blackout, wouldn&#8217;t remember what I did or what I said, which is scary.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Hale was a pioneer in the field of &#8220;Pretty Little Liars&#8221; He has also been in numerous other Hollywood productions including TV shows. &#8220;Life Sentence,&#8221; &#8220;Katy Keene,&#8221;  &#8220;Ragdoll&#8221; plus films like &#8220;The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2,&#8221; &#8220;A Cinderella Story: Once Upon a Song,&#8221;  &#8220;Scream 4.&#8221; She tried her hand at singing and was among the five winners of reality singing competition. &#8220;American Juniors.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p> Teen Choice Awards winner says she was never able be a sexy girl. &#8220;normal moderate drinker.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I was willing to go to this crazy dark place every time,&#8221; During the podcast conversation Hale spoke. &#8220;Of course I tried to be a moderate drinker, just having two. I have an allergy to alcohol. I cannot drink. I view it as an allergy; my brain doesn&#8217;t work the same way as someone who can just have a glass of wine. It always wants more. It&#8217;s craving that feeling.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She also talked about all the different ways she tried to stop drinking, and how it failed. &#8220;I tried to change for boyfriends, I tried to change for my mum, I tried to change for my career, I tried to change for vain reasons \u2013 \u2018I&#8217;ll look younger and look skinnier. Alcohol isn&#8217;t the problem.
