Buttigieg traveled to East Palestine, Ohio three weeks after a Norfolk Southern freight train was unable to keep up with its passengers. The accident caused hazardous materials to be released and forced a short evacuation along the Ohio-Pennsylvania border.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wlwt.com\/article\/east-palestine-ohio-train-derailment-explainer-what-we-know\/42938060\">No one died<\/a>According to the Environmental Protection Agency, people are now back at home. <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/epa-chief-update-air-east-palestine-derailment\/story?id=97285796\">Safe<\/a>It&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2023\/02\/22\/buttigieg-to-visit-scene-of-ohio-crash-scene-thursday-00083981\">Unusual<\/a> It was unusual for a transportation secretary visit the scene of a trainwreck. Buttigieg was forced to go by the will of the MAGA, which included an earlier inspection by Donald Trump. He refused to leave and went to Columbiana County Ohio, where Trump won in 2020. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/elections\/results\/race\/2020-11-03-presidential-OH-0\/\">45 points<\/a>. He was wearing a hard hat, goggles and a cap. He tried to show sympathy for the East Palestinians.<\/p>\n<p>This episode revealed a problem for Buttigieg&#8217;s party. The Democrats are currently led by an 80 year-old president without a clear successor. Joe Biden is still planning to run for reelection. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2023\/02\/22\/bidenworld-joe-may-not-run-2024-00083905\">The twist of fate<\/a> Could upend the 2024 race, sending Democrats scrambling for a primary. It would be unpredictable and possibly unbearable.<\/p>\n<p>Biden is the only person who has defeated Trump. His rising stars, including Pennsylvania governor Josh Shapiro and Maryland governor Wes Moore (D.Ga.), Senator Raphael Warnock, Representative Abigail Spanberger, (D. Va.) aren&#8217;t ready to run for national office. The Democratic bench is filled with retreads\u2014Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren\u2014and duds.<\/p>\n<p>Like Buttigieg. He is a huge overrated. Although his affable, know-it all style may be appealing to some media people, his crisis management skills can&#8217;t be beat. He is expected to retire in 2021. <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/pete-buttigieg-defends-paternity-leave-supply-chain-issues\/story?id=80670846\">I went on paternity leaves<\/a> Despite supply chain bottlenecks or negotiations over the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, he was able to complete his mission despite these obstacles. He was elected to the presidency in 2022. <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/biden-administration\/buttigieg-vacationed-in-europe-as-rail-unions-were-on-verge-of-strike\/\">Portugal Vacation<\/a> as rail workers were threatened with striking. He was far from his best last December. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/the-morning-jolt\/was-buttigieg-asleep-at-the-switch-for-southwest-airlines-holiday-implosion\/\">Southwest Airlines has canceled thousands upon thousands of flights<\/a> scrambled holiday plans. The Federal Aviation Administration was inaugurated in January <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/01\/20\/us\/politics\/pete-buttigieg-southwest-faa.html\">Traffic halt in the air<\/a> due to a computer glitch. Buttigieg was unaware of the situation.<\/p>\n<p>His handling of East Palestine&#8217;s train disaster was equally sloppy. Buttigieg was silent for over a week on the crash while complaining about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-11746791\/Pete-Buttigieg-talks-lack-diversity-construction-ignores-catastrophic-Ohio-train-derailment.html\">Demographics of construction workers<\/a>. He then blamed Trump&#8217;s administration for reducing regulations on rail transport.
