Democrats, however, are more likely to name guns. Axios co-founder Jim VandeHei <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JimVandeHei\/status\/1628742896445792264\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tweet<\/a> It was &#8220;wild&#8221; These conservatives believed this. After some blowback, VandeHei <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JimVandeHei\/status\/1628742896445792264\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Clarified<\/a> He tweeted that he meant to say that the political division was &#8220;wild.&#8221; But it is not for the reasons he believes.<\/p>\n<p>According to the CDC, there are an estimated 106,000 Americans <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/nchs\/nvss\/vsrr\/drug-overdose-data.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">died<\/a> In 2022, from drug overdoses And that&#8217;s likely to be around 67 percent. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dea.gov\/fentanylawareness\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Get involved<\/a> synthetic opioids like fentanyl \u2014 which, if I punched in the number correctly, adds up to around 71,000 deaths.<\/p>\n<p>In 2022, around 44,000 Americans <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gunviolencearchive.org\/past-tolls\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">died<\/a> Gun-related deaths. According to the CDC more than half of gun deaths are due to suicide. This means that there is a need to improve mental health and community involvement rather than useless gun legislation. Guns used in suicides were responsible for the deaths of around 20,000 people. This number includes many accidents, which is why pollsters love to inquire about. &#8220;gun access&#8221;). <\/p>\n<p>In other words, drug overdoses have claimed five times more lives than gun crime in recent years. Overdoses are responsible for more than twice the number of deaths from gun crime-related shootings. It is amazing that so many liberals don\u2019t know this fact.<\/p>\n<p>The idea that there is a Red State-Blue State perception issue, as Cliff Young suggests, doesn&#8217;t actually hold true. Yes, the states have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/nchs\/pressroom\/sosmap\/drug_poisoning_mortality\/drug_poisoning.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The highest per capita<\/a> Drug overdoses can be found in West Virginia, Ohio and Tennessee, Louisiana and Kentucky. However, New Mexico, Maine and Connecticut are also at risk.\u00a0New York and Colorado have higher deaths rates than Texas or Alabama.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not surprising, either, that the media&#8217;s ideologically driven, morbid focus on gun crimes, their conflations and criminal homicides; as well as their politicizing every shooting, have programmed science-loving Democrats a tendency to underestimate the dangers of guns. Were more Americans aware that fentanyl was more dangerous than guns in their hands, would the national debate have the same outcome? You never know. <\/p>\n<p>The majority of partisan media sees the world through their own moral and ideological lense, and when they don&#8217;t like the results they will try to bend the story to make it work. It reminds me of how media coverage of each natural disaster is seen as an exceptional occurrence, convincing people that the Earth may be in its final days. Or how endless hand-wringing about it. &#8220;inequality&#8221; It gives the impression that America has become awash with poverty.<\/p>\n<p>Quick example: <\/p>\n<p>The same Axios poll story that we were told is also included in the Axios poll story. &#8220;Nearly half of Americans \u2014 47% \u2014 say insurers should cover transgender-related medical care. That&#8217;s a deeply partisan issue: 77% of Democrats favor it; just 16% of Republicans do.&#8221; Why isn\u2019t that the takeaway? <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipsos.com\/sites\/default\/files\/ct\/news\/documents\/2023-02\/Axios-Ipsos%20American%20Health%20Index%20-%20Wave%201%20Topline%20PDF.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>52 percent <\/em>Americans<\/a>Despite all the efforts to normalize transgenderism in an endless effort, why isn&#8217;t there insurance that covers related medical procedures?
