Kelly<\/a> He was sentenced to another 20 years imprisonment on Thursday, after being convicted by a Chicago federal judge last year of charges of child pornography enticement of minors.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/celebrities\">R&#038;B singer<\/a>Robert Sylvester Kelly is currently serving 30 years in prison for racketeering convictions he was convicted of in 2021. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/sex-crime\">sex trafficking<\/a> In a New York federal Court, per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2023\/02\/23\/entertainment\/rkelly-chicago-child-porn-sentence\/index.html\">CNN<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>U.S. District Court Judge Harry D. Leinenweber announced in court Thursday that 19 of the 20 year prison sentence would be completed at the same time as his current sentence. One year will be required to be served after that sentence has been completed.<\/p>\n<p>Kelly was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/crime\">found guilty<\/a> Three counts each of child pornography production and three of inducing a minor to participate in criminal sexual activity. The lawyer for the musician requested a retrial, but this week it was denied.<\/p>\n<p>Kelly was to serve a 25-year sentence at the end of his sentence of 30 years.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Robert Kelly is a serial sexual predator who, over the course of many years, specifically targeted young girls and went to great lengths to conceal his abuse of Jane and other minor victims,&#8221; Prosecutors wrote in the filing. &#8220;To this day, and even following the jury verdict against him, Kelly refuses to accept responsibility for his crimes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Kelly&#8217;s lawyers argued that Kelly was already in a coma. &#8220;de facto life sentence&#8221; he asked for a new sentence to be served simultaneously.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In the unlikely event that Kelly was to survive his 30-year sentence, there is no reason to believe he would reoffend as a geriatric in his mid-80s,&#8221; His lawyers wrote. &#8220;The overwhelming majority of Kelly&#8217;s criminal conduct was committed a quarter century ago.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Kelly&#8217;s victims spoke out about his sentencing. The Daily Wire previously reported this. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-r-kelly-sentenced-to-30-years-in-prison-following-sex-trafficking-conviction\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You made me do things that broke my spirit. I literally wished I would die because of how low you made me feel,&#8221; One woman spoke out while speaking to the singer. &#8220;Do you remember that?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Kelly was found guilty of the crime in September 2021, after a month-long investigation that involved 50 witnesses. Prosecutors provided details about the singer&#8217;s life. &#8220;decades of crime&#8221;  &#8220;callous disregard for the very real effects that his crimes had on his victims.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The defendant&#8217;s decades of crime appear to have been fueled by narcissism and a belief that his musical talent absolved him of any need to conform his conduct \u2014 no matter how predatory, harmful, humiliating or abusive to others \u2014 to the strictures of the law,&#8221; Prosecutors wrote in the filing.<\/p>\n<p>They also called Kelly&#8217;s actions &#8220;brazen, manipulative, controlling and coercive.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He has shown no remorse or respect for the law,&#8221; The filing was made. &#8220;Put simply, [Kelly&#8217;s] crimes were calculated, methodical, and part [of] a long-standing pattern of using his platform as a larger-than-life musical persona and his deep network to gain access to teenagers, many of whom were particularly vulnerable, and then to exploit them for his personal gain and sexual gratification.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Musician R.
