Schumann and Company Metals plants to Monday&#8217;s explosion and large fire. One maintenance worker was killed and 13 others were injured.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;An explosion of unknown origin struck our Bedford, Ohio, facility today resulting in injuries to employees and significant damage to the facility,&#8221; I. Schumann &#038; Co. stated in a statement that, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/explosion-ohio-metal-plant-i-schumann-co-oakwood-village\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CBS<\/a> affiliate WOIO-TV. &#8220;Our efforts now are focused on supporting the first responders who came on scene quickly to help our employees.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We intend to cooperate with OSHA and other officials in their investigation as we search for answers in this tragic accident,&#8221; I. Schumann stated it. &#8220;We are working with our employees regarding their needs while the facility is idle and hope to have clarity on our operations in the near future.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Authorities have yet to determine what caused the explosion.<\/p>\n<p>News helicopters fly over the accident scene at the time <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/ohio-metal-manufacturing-plant-explodes-sending-multiple-people-to-hospital\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Witness<\/a> Fire and large amounts of smoke from the building were reported to be under control by firefighters.<\/p>\n<p>Many videos were posted to social media showing debris around the scene and vehicles that had been damaged by fire.<\/p>\n<p>I. Schumann &#038; Co. can be found about 70 miles northwest from East Palestine, Ohio.
