Advocates of &#8220;red flag&#8221; laws\u00a0want people to believe that simply taking away someone&#8217;s legally-owned guns means the problem is solved.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, the Biden administration declared that it would use part of the $1.8 trillion spending bill passed following last year&#8217;s elections to give.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/biden-admin-announces-231m-gun-violence-prevention-efforts-including-red-flag-laws\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">$231 Million<\/a>\u00a0Red-flag laws in states that push for gun-control policies and enact red flag laws. Gun-control advocates of Moms Demand Action, Michael Bloomberg, were once again on hand following the mass shooting at Michigan State University last week.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/shannonrwatts\/status\/1625337155991244801\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Red-flag laws are not to be believed<\/a>\u00a0as the solution. Michigan legislators also see it as an attack.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2023\/02\/19\/us\/michigan-senate-gun-safety-legislation\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a chance<\/a>\u00a0To pass the law.<\/p>\n<p>The law does not respect due process. Judges can remove a person&#8217;s gun without hearing. However, the laws don&#8217;t make people safer.<\/p>\n<p>Although it&#8217;s possible for someone to do some crazy things with a motor vehicle and no red flag laws apply to taking away the right to drive, A 62 year-old man ran over pedestrians on a Brooklyn sidewalk with a UHaul truck last week.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/news\/us-news\/u-haul-driver-was-mental-health-crisis-deadly-new-york-rampage-police-rcna70728\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">One person can be killed and eight more injured.<\/a>. The man was described as having had a\u00a0mental health crisis.<\/p>\n<p>The Crime Prevention Research Center is open up to 2018\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/crimeresearch.org\/2018\/04\/vehicle-attacks-around-world-since-2000\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">A list of vehicle attacks around the world was created.<\/a>. This was the most recent vehicle attack.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.counterextremism.com\/vehicles-as-weapons-of-terror\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">France, July 14, 2016,<\/a>,\u00a0when 86 were killed and 430 wounded. This attack was more fatal than any American mass shooting. Only the November 2015 Paris concert attack in Western Europe was more fatal.<\/p>\n<p>In the last few years, there have been many more vehicle attacks. A 38-year-old man, who was already facing felony criminal charges for trying to murder the mother of his child by driving his car, was arrested in November 2021.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/10\/02\/accused-waukesha-christmas-parade-killer-darrell-brooks-to-represent-himself-at-trial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Six people were killed and 62 more were injured by the same vehicle during a Waukesha Christmas parade<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In November 2022, Florida police\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/florida-police-prevent-mass-casualty-event-after-stopping-woman-driving-car-5k-route\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">This was only narrowly avoided<\/a>\u00a0A &#8220;mass casualty&#8221; event at a 5K Thanksgiving Day run by stopping a woman before she could drive her\u00a0Range Rover through the crowd at 60 mph.\u00a0Once caught, the woman is released. &#8220;repeatedly banged her head&#8221; You can also use the windows of a police vehicle.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Washington Post points out that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/nation\/2021\/11\/22\/vehicle-ramming-attacks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Between May 2020 and June 2020<\/a>At least 18 vehicles deliberately drove into people.<\/p>\n<p>Anthony McRae, the MSU killer suspect, also had an affair.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/michigan-state-shooter-anthony-mcrae-brother-said-he-changed-mom-died-he-became-bitter-angry\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">History of mental illness<\/a>. The police even conducted a welfare inspection on him one week prior to the attack. If the police had not done so, however, &#8220;reasonable belief&#8221; McRae was a danger to him or others. They already had the authority under Michigan&#8217;s voluntary commitment law to have him assessed. McRae&#8217;s mental health professionals would have agreed to an immediate hearing. A lawyer would have been provided for his defense.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Judges can involuntarily commit people, but they have many other options.
