Particularly, Trumka leaned on very low-quality indoor air. <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mdpi.com\/1660-4601\/20\/1\/75\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Study<\/a> A study by a group of green energy that showed that gas stoves are responsible for a large percentage of asthma cases. Economics professors criticised the Rocky Mountain Institute&#8217;s study. <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.parentdata.org\/p\/gas-stoves-and-asthma\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Emily Oster<\/a>The <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/thebreakthrough.org\/issues\/food-agriculture-environment\/bad-stove-science-is-a-roadblock-on-the-path-to-electrification\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Breakthrough Institute<\/a>?, and <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/link.vox.com\/view\/608adc3591954c3cef0345e4i2gvb.8w\/e16ccdce\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kelsey Piper at <\/a><i><a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/link.vox.com\/view\/608adc3591954c3cef0345e4i2gvb.8w\/e16ccdce\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vox<\/a><\/i>. <\/p>\n<p>It is obvious what&#8217;s happening here. The Rocky Mountain Institute acts as a lobbying group. <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/rmi.org\/impact\/climate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">This is done to encourage businesses to use green energy.<\/a>It conducted a low quality study, which made natural gas look bad compared to it. <\/p>\n<p>Publishing <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/thebreakthrough.org\/issues\/food-agriculture-environment\/bad-stove-science-is-a-roadblock-on-the-path-to-electrification\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gas stoves: Junk science<\/a> This is not a good way to go. Gas stoves are only a small source of natural gas usage. Also, electrification is not the goal the federal government should be supporting with national bans. Why not? It&#8217;s because in many areas of the country &#8220;electric-powered&#8221; means coal-powered. <\/p>\n<p>Eight <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.globaltrademag.com\/states-most-dependent-on-coal-for-electricity\/#:~:text=The%20majority%20of%20coal%20production,a%20lower%20share%20from%20renewables.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.S. States<\/a> A majority of the electricity they get from coal comes from them. A ban on gas stoves in the United States would see 80% of West-Virginia&#8217;s gas-cooking shift to coal-cooking. This will not reduce greenhouse gas emissions. <\/p>\n<p>It is a problem that environmental lobbyists as well as policymakers have to deal with. They see something they like in some situations and then decide to mandate it for everyone. <\/p>\n<p>Electric cars can be used for both short and long trips. Long-distance trips are expensive and require huge batteries. High-efficiency lightbulbs can be used in fixtures that are left on continuously and require frequent maintenance, such as parking garages.
