It could benefit the GOP in <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/2024-elections\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2024<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The current map was created after the state Supreme Court invalidated a legislature-passed one. It could result in the Republicans gaining as many as four House seat(s) in 2024. <\/p>\n<p><b><a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/politics\/redistricting-lawsuits-could-reshape-2024-election\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A LINGERING REDISTRICTING LAWSUIT IN 15 STATES MAY RESHAPE 2024&#8217;S POLITICAL BATTLEFIELD<\/a><\/b> <\/p>\n<p>After the elections of last fall, the conservative majority on the state Supreme Court is now in control. Recently, however it agreed to reconsider its earlier decision. <\/p>\n<p>North Carolina&#8217;s 14 House Seats are currently evenly split between Republicans &#038; Democrats. However, the Court ruled that the old map would have given the GOP as many as 11 seats. <\/p>\n<p>One expert said <i>Reuters<\/i> It would not surprise if an old map were reintroduced rather than a new one being created. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I wouldn&#8217;t be surprised if they just went through the Kabuki theater, and we actually end up with exactly the same maps,&#8221; Catherine Turcer is the executive director at Common Cause Ohio. <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/us\/north-carolina-republicans-reap-reward-judicial-wins-redistricting-ruling-2023-02-07\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Submitted<\/a> <i>Reuters<\/i> <\/p>\n<p><a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/republicans-slight-advantage-house-control-2024-ratings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Early projections<\/a> Cook Political Report&#8217;s 2024 House Races Projections show that the GOP holds a significant advantage.
