This is where a train carrying dangerous materials was derail this month.<\/p>\n<p>According to a statement by his 2024 presidential campaign, Trump said he would visit the Pennsylvania border town on Wednesday. In the statement, President Joe Biden&#8217;s government was criticised for making it seem like they were trying to <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/02\/18\/fema-sends-help-to-east-palestine-after-refusing-for-2-weeks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">flip-flop<\/a> Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) provides disaster assistance.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Biden and FEMA said they would not be sending federal aid to East Palestine. As soon as I announced that I&#8217;m going, he announced a team will go. Hopefully he will also be there. This is good news because we got them to \u2018move.&#8217; The people of East Palestine need help,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realLizUSA\/status\/1626958678237622272\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump stated<\/a>. &#8220;I&#8217;ll see you on Wednesday!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>FEMA first informed Ohio about the derailment of the Norfolk Southern freight train. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-rejects-federal-disaster-assistance-for-ohio-town-impacted-by-toxic-train-derailment-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">did not qualify<\/a> Federal disaster assistance, but the Department of Health and Human Services would assist residents who need medical attention due to the toxic spillage.<\/p>\n<p>However, Governor Mike DeWine (R OH) had released a joint declaration with Thomas Sivak, FEMA Regional Administrator, announcing FEMA help would be coming.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;FEMA and the State of Ohio have been in constant contact regarding emergency operations in East Palestine,&#8221; The <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GovMikeDeWine\/status\/1626736542524796929\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joint statement<\/a>. &#8220;U.S. EPA and Ohio EPA have been working together since day one. Tomorrow, FEMA will supplement federal efforts by deploying a Senior Response Official along with a Regional Incident Management Assistance Team (IMAT) to support ongoing operations, including incident coordination and ongoing assessments of potential long-term recovery needs.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>February 3 was the date of the train derailed.
