Haines, who supervises the U.S. Intelligence community, commented on how &#8220;crazy&#8221; The situation has changed in the last few weeks.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s so crazy. It&#8217;s really like an episode of \u2018Veep,&#8217; you know, on some level,&#8221; She laughed, referring to HBO&#8217;s political comedy that starred Julia Louisefus.<\/p>\n<p>This discussion took place nearly two weeks after the U.S. downed what it believed to be a Chinese surveillance ballon off the coast South Carolina. Beijing claimed that the balloon was a civilian weather balloon, which it claimed was mostly blown off course. The U.S. has been accused of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcconnecticut.com\/news\/national-international\/china-accuses-us-of-overreacting-when-it-shot-down-balloon\/2969555\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Overreacting<\/a> It was only shot down after it flew over a large area of the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Haines discussed how countries react when they are caught spying.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When a country is caught spying in a clear and obvious way, right? Like another country responds to it, and I think that&#8217;s appropriate,&#8221; She spoke. &#8220;I think that it&#8217;s perfectly reasonable to have a clear and forceful reaction to a Chinese high altitude balloon \u2014 you know \u2014 flying over the United States and surveilling us.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Haines gave a glimpse at the future challenges of flying cars. This was similar to what you might see on an episode of &#8220;The Jetsons.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think there is a question of \u2014 as technology improves as we start to see more high-altitude vehicles, in effect, that we&#8217;re going to see more of this,&#8221; Haines said. &#8220;And we&#8217;re going to have to understand that and manage it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, President Joe Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/speeches-remarks\/2023\/02\/16\/remarks-by-president-biden-on-the-united-states-response-to-recent-aerial-objects\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">He delivered his first public remarks<\/a>\u00a0About the Chinese balloon as well as the other three <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/ufo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Unidentified flying objects<\/a> In the days that followed, the U.S. military took down North America&#8217;s aircraft carrier.\u00a0He stated that the U.S. intelligence communion&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-claims-that-three-most-recent-downed-aerial-objects-not-linked-to-chinese-spy-program\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Current assessment<\/a> Was that the three objects &#8220;were most likely balloons tied to private companies, recreation, or research institutions studying weather or conducting other scientific research.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>After looking at how the United States is, you will be amazed at its size. &#8220;enhancing our radar to pick up more slow-moving objects above our country and around the world,&#8221; Biden stated that he has given his team the task of developing &#8220;sharper rules&#8221; How the United States will handle this &#8220;unidentified objects moving forward, distinguishing \u2014 distinguishing between those that are likely to pose safety and security risks that necessitate action and those that do not.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Haines stated that she believes Biden\u2019s approach to ensuring partners are kept informed, including keeping them in the loop, is a good one. &#8220;a pretty classic and appropriate way to handle&#8221; This is the current situation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Biden administration\u2018s spy chief raised expectations on Friday for a future in which &#8220;high-altitude vehicles&#8221; This will soon become standard practice.
