Oklahoma County District Judge Lynne McGuire rejected that claim and said that Oklahoma law detailing parentage trumps the state\u2019s legalization of same-sex marriage. <\/p>\n<p>\u201c[The act] does not take into account same-sex marriage, and there is no presumption that the wife of the mother is automatically presumed the parent of a child born during the marriage,\u201d McGuire wrote. <\/p>\n<p>Williams, McGuire said, \u201cwas able to prove by a preponderance of the evidence that she acted in a parental role during her marriage\u201d But ultimately \u201cthere was no evidence presented regarding the length of time it would take to establish a \u2018meaningful emotional relationship with the child.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That meant giving Harlan Vaughn, the couple\u2019s sperm supplier who is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/nbc-out\/out-news\/lesbian-mom-loses-parental-rights-wife-childs-sperm-donor-rcna70884\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Now in a relationship<\/a> Full parental rights are available to Wilson. McGuire claimed that Williams, who was neither legally adopted nor born the child, didn&#8217;t qualify for full parental rights.\u00a0\u201cmother\u2013child relationship\u201d\u00a0under state law. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe reality is that the law provides a legal remedy to those seeking parental rights. There was a legal remedy available to Williams. She knowingly chose not to pursue it,\u201d McGuire wrote. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It is becoming increasingly common to mix assisted reproduction laws with same-sex marriage law. <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/10\/05\/gay-couple-in-nyc-demands-taxpayers-fund-creation-of-motherless-children\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a host of legal issues<\/a>. This ruling is one of many examples of why enabling or protecting the deliberate creation motherless or fatherless kids is not only illegal, but also in violation. <a href=\"https:\/\/thembeforeus.com\/children-have-rights\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">children\u2019s natural rights<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p> Behind the Biological Battle <\/p>\n<p>An article <a href=\"https:\/\/www.metrofamilymagazine.com\/time-to-be-brave\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Wilson, 2021.<\/a>, she and Williams became legally married in their state so Williams could be listed as one of the child\u2019s parents on the birth certificate. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was about three years into our relationship that we started talking about having a baby,\u201d She wrote. \u201cThis conversation also included a \u2018getting married\u2019 conversation; not because of any traditional reason, but to establish Kris\u2019 parentage on legal documentation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Reproductive technologies such as the creation of children using supplied sperm without strings attached are available. <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/07\/25\/as-reproductive-technology-advances-remember-just-because-we-can-doesnt-mean-we-should\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Morally, this is a problem<\/a>\u00a0They are able to take away the natural rights that children have to a father and mother to make room for the needs of adults. They also make <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/08\/05\/when-sperm-and-eggs-are-monetized-human-existence-becomes-transactional\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Transcriptional reproduction of human existence<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Yet to save time and money and ensure their child had access to his heritage and medical history, Williams and Wilson circumvented fertility facilities\u2019 anonymous gametes stores, which often\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/08\/05\/when-sperm-and-eggs-are-monetized-human-existence-becomes-transactional\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dangle dollars<\/a>\u00a0In exchange for their biological matter, they were asked to meet a young, cash-strapped couple. They also agreed to go out with a gay man that they had found via a paternity site.
