This could result in crashes.<\/p>\n<p>According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Tesla software allows vehicles to be driven. \u201cexceed speed limits or travel through intersections in an unlawful or unpredictable manner increases the risk of a crash.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tesla will provide an over-the air (OTA) software update for no charge. The electric vehicle manufacturer said that it does not know of any deaths or injuries related to the recall issue. According to Tesla, it has 18 warranty claims.<\/p>\n<p>Tesla shares saw a 0.4 percent drop in trading volume, closing at $213.46 on Thursday afternoon. It was one of the most traded stocks on U.S. stock exchanges.<\/p>\n<p>This is a fresh setback for Tesla\u2019s driver assistance system, which faces growing regulatory and public scrutiny. Elon Musk, Chief Executive, has consistently missed his targets to attain self-driving capabilities. This was something he considered a potential revenue stream.<\/p>\n<p>The recall comes less than two weeks before the company\u2019s March 1 investor day, during which Musk is expected to promote the EV maker\u2019s artificial intelligence capability and plans to expand its vehicle lineup.<\/p>\n<p>While Tesla\u2019s Autopilot feature assists with steering, accelerating, and braking for other vehicles and pedestrians within its lane, the company says FSD is a more advanced system \u201cdesigned to provide more active guidance and assisted driving\u201d Under active supervision by the driver.<\/p>\n<p>Tesla reported that it had $2.9 billion of deferred revenue as of the end in 2022. \u201caccess to our FSD features, internet connectivity, free Supercharging programs and over-the-air software updates primarily on automotive sales.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Musk, however, stated that Musk had tweeted that the word was being used. So we would not have released the FSD Beta if the safety statistics were not excellent,\u201d During a January call with analysts, he stated these words.<\/p>\n<p>Musk has made FSD technology a key part of his artificial intelligence initiatives at Tesla.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that he had spoken out last October. \u201cwe\u2019re almost there. And then, of course, we\u2019ve got to prove it to regulators and get the regulatory approvals, which is outside of our control.\u201d He said that cars with FSD mode are safer than cars without it.<\/p>\n<p>The recall covers 2016\u20132023 Model S and Model X vehicles, 2017\u20132023 Model 3, and 2020\u20132023 Model Y vehicles equipped with FSD Beta software or pending installation.<\/p>\n<p>NHTSA asked Tesla to recall the vehicles, but the company said despite the recall, it did not concur with NHTSA\u2019s analysis. Federal regulators rarely intervene in real-world testing programs. This is an important step for developing cars that can drive on their own. Many thousands of Tesla customers use FSD Beta.<\/p>\n<p>NHTSA is currently investigating 830,000 Tesla vehicles equipped with Autopilot driver assistance system. This investigation was initiated in 2021 after a series of collisions with parked emergency vehicles. NHTSA is examining whether Tesla vehicles are sufficiently vigilant to ensure that drivers are paying attention. NHTSA announced that it had received no FSD recalls. \u201cinvestigation into Tesla\u2019s Autopilot and associated vehicle systems remains open and active.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tesla stated in \u201ccertain rare circumstances \u2026 the feature could potentially infringe upon local traffic laws or customs while executing certain driving maneuvers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>NHTSA stated that there are possible situations in which the problem could arise.<\/p>\n<p>NHTSA \u201cthe system may respond insufficiently to changes in posted speed limits or not adequately account for the driver\u2019s adjustment of the vehicle\u2019s speed to exceed posted speed limits.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tesla recalls almost 54,000 U.S.-made vehicles equipped with FSD Beta software.
