Claudia Tenney (R.N.Y.), notified Congress Thursday that the Biden Administration is illegally withholding intelligence about Iran&#8217;s most recent military capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>Avril Haines, Director of National Intelligence in New York, informed the New York congresswoman that the administration had to submit a report about Iran to Congress almost eight months ago. &#8220;In clear violation of the law, you still have not filed this critical report with the House Foreign Affairs Committee,&#8221;\u00a0Tenney wrote the <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Letter-to-DNI-Haines-re-FY22-NDAA-Report.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Let me know<\/a>The following was obtained by the\u00a0<em>Washington Free Beacon<\/em>. &#8220;It is vital that Congress finally receives this report\u2014even if it is 233 days late\u2014so we can better counteract the threats posed by Iran and Iranian-backed groups, as well as their ongoing actions in the region.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Congress required that the DNI submit a report to Congress as part of the 2022 National Defense Authorization Act. &#8220;the advancements in the military capabilities of Iran, especially regarding the capabilities of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Iranian-backed groups, including Hezbollah and the Houthis,&#8221; Tenney. Tenney stated that the annual defense spending bill was passed Dec. 27, 2021. It gave the Biden administration 180 days for the report to be submitted. The deadline was met on June 25.<\/p>\n<p>The DNI office did not respond when we asked for comments.<\/p>\n<p>Tenney states that the report is crucial to Congress&#8217;s oversight and efforts to sanction Tehran\u2019s growing military industry.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/russia-ukraine-iran-politics-defense-intelligence-agency-drones-fecf53c964f09e24bd9a187715ac8598\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Provider<\/a> Russia&#8217;s use of lethal drone technology in its war against Ukraine. Critics claim that the Biden administration is unwilling to reveal new developments in Iran. This would fuel calls for more sanctions against Iran and torpedo the administration\u2019s efforts to revive its Iran nuclear agreement.<\/p>\n<p>The White House is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/biden-administration\/biden-admin-withholds-secret-iran-agreement-from-congress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Accused<\/a> keeping Congress in the dark regarding the status of Iran&#8217;s ongoing nuclear negotiations.
