Vance wrote a letter asking for a summary of the Department of Transportation&#8217;s response to the situation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Buttigieg&#8217;s most recent bit of information was a tweet on Tuesday night that stated that his department is &#8220;in the process&#8221; \u201cconstrained by law on some areas of rail regulation (like the braking rule withdrawn by the Trump administration in 2018 because of a law passed by Congress in 2015), but we are using the powers we do have to keep people safe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Later Wednesday, he answered to a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tedcruz\/status\/1625498210230992899\">Twitter<\/a> Sen. Ted Cruz and Representative Ilhanomar exchange their demands for a \u201ccongressional inquiry and direct action\u201d From Buttigieg.<\/p>\n<p>He <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SecretaryPete\/status\/1625926253420109824\">Answered<\/a> By reposting comments, add \u201cGlad to see newfound bipartisan agreement here. Give us a call, we can do some good work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s the thing though, people are reaching out, in fact many important people continue to reach out yet Buttigieg has only seemed concerned with the <a href=\"https:\/\/thepoliticalinsider.com\/a-train-derailed-in-ohio-releasing-toxic-chemicals-into-the-air-so-naturally-pete-buttigieg-is-focused-on-white-construction-workers\/\">White respondents:<\/a> To the scene of the derailment.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Regan, administrator of the EPA has frequently responded to Ohio&#8217;s situation and plans to travel to East Palestine. Buttigieg\u2019s response to that? Simply retweeting Regan\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EPAMichaelRegan\/status\/1625993095497105408?s=20\">Video announcement<\/a>There were no other announcements by him to either join Regan during his visit or to make his own plans.<\/p>\n<p>Response to<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/ohio-residents-erupt-town-hall-wheres-pete-buttigieg\"> Inquiry<\/a> Fox News Digital today stated that the Department of Transportation is currently the lead investigator on the Ohio incident. Reports indicate that this train could also have been transporting toxic chemicals as well.<\/p>\n<p>The editorial board of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/editorials\/where-is-pete-buttigieg\">the Washington Examiner<\/a> has also publicly called for Buttigieg\u2019s resignation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cButtigieg is notorious for wasting taxpayers\u2019 time on fatuities such as \u2018racist roads\u2019 and gender-inclusive pronouns while transportation infrastructure falls apart,\u201d the editorial stated. \u201cA hyper ambitious politician with almost no useful experience, he is desperate to shore up his frayed relations with black Democratic voters, the result of his racially divisive tenure as mayor of South Bend, Indiana.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf Buttigieg is serious about \u2018equity,&#8217;\u201d the piece continued, \u201che should resign and ask President Joe Biden to replace him with a black nominee.
