I hate cocktail parties. I always end up finding one person that is interesting and sitting in a corner all night. Do you do that?\u201d The 85-year-old \u201c80 For Brady\u201d Wallace was asked by the actress.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI, yeah, I know what you\u2019re saying,\u201d Wallace agreed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause I\u2019m shy, basically. Which, you know, just small talk. I don\u2019t. I can\u2019t do it. Isn\u2019t that boring?\u201d Fonda continued to ask Wallace the question, and Fonda asked, \u201cAre you married?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes. Are you interested?\u201d Wallace responded with laughter.<\/p>\n<p>Fonda quickly explained to Wallace that Fonda only asked because she thought Wallace would be interesting company at future parties.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo, I just \u2014 I just thought I should invite you to parties so that the two of us can just go into a corner \u2026\u201d She began.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would love that,\u201d Wallace replied.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2026 and talk. And I don\u2019t have to deal with the rest of it,\u201d Fonda closed with a smile.<\/p>\n<p>The octogenarian <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/movies\/jane-fonda-recalls-powerful-closure-she-had-with-dad-henry-before-his-death-exclusive\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">It was also shown<\/a> a touching moment shared with her often-abrasive father, actor Henry Fonda, before he died in 1982 \u2014 telling Wallace that it was the only time she had ever seen her father weep.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBefore he died I was able to tell him that I loved him and that I forgave him for, you know, whatever didn\u2019t happen. And I hope that he would forgive me for not being a better daughter. I got to say that to him,\u201d She spoke.\u00a0\u201cHe didn\u2019t say anything. But he wept. I had never seen that before. I\u2019d never seen my father break down and weep.
