The Washington Examiner <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/technology\/disinformation-conservative-media-censored-blacklists\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Exposed<\/a> last week, the self-appointed arbiter of truth doesn\u2019t seek to silence the legacy corporate outlets that repeatedly peddled false stories. Instead, it calls for widespread censorship against conservative websites that correct those stories by branding right-leaning ones. \u201criskiest\u201d When it comes down to \u201cdisinformation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not only new outlets for conservatives that are \u201crisky,\u201d however. And it isn\u2019t even \u201cdisinformation\u201d that\u2019s risky: Disinformation \u2014 whatever that means \u2014 can be countered with the truth.\u00a0What is the truth? <em>It is<\/em> It is risky to believe that experts can either dictate what is deceptive or declare that such speech should not be allowed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A simple graphic from the GDI\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.disinformationindex.org\/research\/2022-10-21-brief-disinformation-risk-in-the-united-states-online-media-market-october-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Summary<\/a> Its \u201cDisinformation Risk in the United States Online Media Market,\u201d This explains the implications of GDI&#8217;s censorship approach by stating that if the outlets GDI wants to silence were not muted, the public wouldn&#8217;t be informed about important questions regarding national security, government malfeasance and corruption as well as major policy issues.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Screen-Shot-2023-02-14-at-5.35.04-AM-1024x683-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-287632\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Screen-Shot-2023-02-14-at-5.35.04-AM-1024x683-1.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Screen-Shot-2023-02-14-at-5.35.04-AM-300x200-1.png 300w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Screen-Shot-2023-02-14-at-5.35.04-AM-768x512-1.png 768w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Screen-Shot-2023-02-14-at-5.35.04-AM.png 1124w\"   style=\"display:none\"><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>For instance, compare the two first media outlets GDI identifies with the \u201cleast risky sites\u201d And \u201criskiest sites\u201d \u2014 NPR and the New York Post, respectively \u2014 and their coverage of the Hunter Biden laptop story. The New York Post reported the story and provided detailed analysis of material from the MacBook that was found. This material implicated Joe Biden, then-presidential candidate, in a pay to play scandal.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In contrast, NPR <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/npr-were-not-covering-biden-laptop-scandal-because-its-not-really-a-story-pure-distractions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">declared<\/a> Twitter did not cover the Hunter Biden story. \u201cwe don\u2019t want to waste our time on stories that are not really stories, and we don\u2019t want to waste the listeners\u2019 and readers\u2019 time on stories that are just pure distractions.\u201d NPR\u2019s failure to initially cover the story caused the government-funded outlet to remain ignorant of the basic facts, prompting NPR to later falsely <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/04\/02\/npr-issues-correction-after-claiming-hunter-biden-laptop-story-was-discredited-by-intelligence\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Report<\/a> that the documents recovered from Hunter Biden\u2019s laptop had been \u201cdiscredited by U.S. intelligence.\u201d NPR issued a correction to that disinformation later.<\/p>\n<p>In general, the outlets on the left \u2014 both politically and in GDI\u2019s graphic \u2014 either ignored the Biden family scandal or spun the story as representing Russian disinformation, with The Washington Post\u2019s so-called fact-checker even framing the New York Post\u2019s breaking news inaccurately as \u201chacked or leaked material.\u201d The \u201criskiest sites,\u201d Instead, they reported the story and looked deeper for additional information.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"899\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Screen-Shot-2023-02-14-at-5.35.48-AM-1024x899-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-287633\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Screen-Shot-2023-02-14-at-5.35.48-AM-1024x899-1.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Screen-Shot-2023-02-14-at-5.35.48-AM-300x263-1.png 300w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Screen-Shot-2023-02-14-at-5.35.48-AM-768x675-1.png 768w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Screen-Shot-2023-02-14-at-5.35.48-AM.png 1216w\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>In addition to the corporate legacy outlets limiting their reporting on the materials contained on the abandoned laptop that suggested Joe Biden profited from Hunter\u2019s foreign business ventures, Twitter censored the story, and Facebook limited visibility of the scandal. Such censorship had serious consequences: Half of the respondents who were surveyed after Twitter\u2019s new owner, Elon Musk, revealed the details behind the efforts to block the New York Post story said they would have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-11529381\/Hunter-Bidens-laptop-Voters-lacked-critical-information-2020-election-survey-shows.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Voted<\/a> They might have been different if they had known about the Biden family&#8217;s true story.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A number of legacy outlets, which had previously refused to cover this story on the laptop have since acknowledged it. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/news\/politics\/the-new-york-times-admits-authenticity-of-hunter-biden-s-laptop\/ar-AAVcQ2V\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Genuineness<\/a> The laptop was still available more than a year after the election. But without the New York Post\u2019s original coverage, The New York Times and the other supposed standard-bearers of journalism never would have covered the story. American public and the Congressional Oversight Committee wouldn&#8217;t have been aware of the serious national security risks and apparent Biden family corruption.<\/p>\n<p>This is America&#8217;s future, if GDI succeeds on its mission. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/624170734\/CIRCULATION-Copy-Eudisinfolab-Pres-Oct-22\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Promising<\/a> To \u201ccut off disinformation ad revenue streams enabling its redirection to higher quality news.\u201d What is GDI&#8217;s plan to demonetize and eliminate media outlets? British-based company boasts that \u201cad techs\u201d Use its data to \u201cdivert money away from disinforming domains.\u201d \u201cAdvertisers\u201d rely on GDI\u2019s \u201ctrusted risk rating\u201d Advertisements can be placed by \u201cplatforms and search engines,\u201d \u201cincorporate risk signal into their products and trust and safety teams.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The New York Post\u2019s coverage of the Hunter Biden story represents but one of many important stories covered accurately by the \u201criskiest sites,\u201d In contrast to the fake reporting and narratives that are spread by the outlets deemed the \u201cleast risky sites.\u201d The Russia-collusion hoax and the Justice Department and FBI\u2019s abuse of the FISA Court system to unconstitutionally surveil the innocent American and CIA source Carter Page provide the most expansive illustration of the inaccurate reporting peddled by The New York Times, The Washington Post, USA Today, and the other sites GDI deems providers of \u201chigher quality news.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Not only did those outlets get the story wrong, but in the case of USA Today \u2014 when provided a detailed analysis exposing the Russia-collusion hoax, supported by original source documentation \u2014 the outlet <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2019\/03\/28\/usa-today-blacklists-federalist-crime-getting-trump-russia-story-right\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Refused<\/a> The publication <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2019\/03\/26\/time-trumps-critics-admit-russian-collusion-didnt-happen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Truth<\/a>. That\u2019s because it, like the GDI, branded The Federalist, which was cited in support of the Editorial the newspaper had preliminarily approved, \u201cnot reliable.\u201d But as the inspector general\u2019s report would later confirm, both the proposed <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2019\/03\/26\/time-trumps-critics-admit-russian-collusion-didnt-happen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">editorial<\/a> The Federalist published the articles underlying them with 100 percent accuracy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If the GDI wins and The Federalist is silenced then the truth will also be revealed. USA Today and other herd-following outlets won&#8217;t publish stories that are contrary to the narratives pushed out by the Federalist. \u201cleast risky sites.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Who will then expose the lies told by those? \u201cleast risky sites,\u201d such as The New York Times, which began running a preemptive hit on former Attorney General William Barr and Special Counsel John Durham in anticipation of a likely damaging report on the DOJ and FBI\u2019s malfeasance in their investigation into Donald Trump? There are many. <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/01\/30\/6-reasons-the-nyts-hit-job-on-john-durhams-imminent-report-instantly-unravels\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">False and illogical charges<\/a> against Barr and Durham was the Times\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/01\/31\/the-blitzkrieg-on-bill-barr-and-john-durham-is-just-beginning\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">False and blatant representation<\/a> that the two men had inappropriately discussed Durham\u2019s investigation. Americans didn\u2019t see the other \u201cleast risky sites\u201d analyze the special counsel regulations, which, had they done so, would have established that the Times\u2019 accusation of impropriety was unfounded. <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/01\/31\/the-blitzkrieg-on-bill-barr-and-john-durham-is-just-beginning\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Federalist<\/a> But it worked.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Federalist also looked deeper to find the client represented in the legal representation used by the Times to attack Barr and Durham. Lo and behold! <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/02\/01\/any-journalist-relying-on-a-russia-hoaxer-to-attack-barr-and-durham-should-be-tuned-out\/\">Take a look<\/a>Unnamed clients were actually part of the Russia-collusion scam. Relying on the spin of Halper\u2019s lawyer over the former attorney general and a well-respected former U.S. attorney sure seems a risky move for the Old Gray Lady!<\/p>\n<p>Time and again, the supposedly less risky outlets pushed false narratives, whether about Brett Kavanaugh during his confirmation battle, Justice Clarence Thomas\u2019 wife and nonexistent conflicts of interest, or Devin Nunes and his battle to expose FISA abuse. <\/p>\n<p>The origins of Covid, the inability of the Covid shot to prevent transmission of the virus, the lack of efficacy of cloth masks, and the predictable harm of masks and lockdowns on children \u2014 these were all things the \u201criskiest sites\u201d Right while the \u201cless risky\u201d The stories were fabricated by others. As well, the \u201chigher quality news sites\u201d While they continue to claim that males are capable of becoming females, and vice versa. The websites GDI seeks obstruct highlight the science behind the trans ideology and the severe consequences it has on children.<\/p>\n<p>The GDI doesn\u2019t seek to prevent disinformation; it seeks to censor accurate information.
