Vance<\/a> (R-OH criticized members <a href=\"http:\/\/dailywire.com\/topic\/biden-administration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Biden administration<\/a> And the <a href=\"http:\/\/dailywire.com\/topic\/mainstream-media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mainstream media<\/a> For not paying enough attention to East Palestine <a href=\"http:\/\/dailywire.com\/topic\/ohio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ohio<\/a>Train derailments and controlled burning of chemicals could pose a threat to the health of millions of people in the heartland.<\/p>\n<p>All residents within one-mile of the crash were evacuated by state and local authorities. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/evacuation-ordered-ohio-governor-warns-major-explosion-could-send-shrapnel-a-mile-from-derailed-train\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">started<\/a> Controlled burning of industrial chemicals spilled to reduce the possibility of an explosion. Five train cars emitted vinyl chloride, a carcinogen which can contaminate drinking water supplies. The smoke was visible in large plumes in eastern Ohio, and western Pennsylvania. It raised concerns about the air quality and water quality in Ohio River Basin.<\/p>\n<p>Vance, a member of the Senate who was just elected, made comments during an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/video\/6320355916112\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Interview<\/a> Tucker Carlson, Fox News host on Monday, stated that East Palestine residents have been the victims of the incompetence of officials such Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have had hundreds of train derailments after we spent over $1 trillion on infrastructure in this country, so the fact that this isn\u2019t getting obviously better is a major indictment of the people spending the money and what they\u2019re spending the money on,\u201d Vance made a comment. \u201cNow we know, if you listen to Secretary Buttigieg today, that they are focused more on whether we have too many white men in construction jobs than he is on the fundamentals of his job, which is ensuring we have a viable transportation infrastructure in this country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Buttigieg did not speak out on the train accident for over a week, or even days, after the incident. However, he attended the National Association of Counties Conference Monday to discuss issues such as racial equality in the construction sector. He became a presidential contender. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/ilhan-omar-pushes-buttigieg-for-direct-action-after-ohio-train-derailment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Addressed<\/a> After facing the crisis, the crisis was recast in a social media statement <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/hasnt-said-a-word-republicans-slam-pete-buttigieg-for-silence-after-ohio-train-derailment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pressure<\/a> From elected Democrats or Republicans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy constituents in East Palestine have been some of the main victims of the fact that we have failing infrastructure in our country after spending tons of money in an effort to actually fix it,\u201d Vance continued. \u201cWe are ruled by unserious people who are worried about fake problems instead of the real fact that our country is falling apart in some of the most important ways.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Vance pointed out that the crisis has received very little attention from legacy media outlets. Vance said they are already prone towards neglecting the problems facing middle America. He added that many reporters are not willing to press government agencies about the potential consequences. According to an analysis, the legacy networks ABC and CBS spent less time covering the train crash between February 4th and February 14th than NBC and NBC. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbusters.org\/blogs\/nb\/bill-dagostino\/curtis-houck\/2023\/02\/14\/networks-abandoned-ohio-train-disaster-despite-continued-fallout\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Analyse<\/a> From the Media Research Center.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think that the entire country, the media complex, the leaders of this country, have decided to disregard the people of East Palestine,\u201d He said. \u201cIf you look at the way that this story has been covered, if it\u2019s been covered at all, it\u2019s about how there are poor people in East Palestine who have been victimized by this disaster. Well of course that\u2019s true, but you want journalists asking tough questions about what\u2019s going on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Vance expressed frustration at not being able to get transparent information from government agencies. This included details about the amount vinyl chloride that can make water undrinkable. \u201cI\u2019ve been trying to get an answer to that question for days.
