However, residents continue to report serious problems. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/health\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Health<\/a> issues.<\/p>\n<p>Before the crash, all residents within a mile of it were evacuated by state and local authorities. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/evacuation-ordered-ohio-governor-warns-major-explosion-could-send-shrapnel-a-mile-from-derailed-train\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">started<\/a> To reduce the chance of an explosion, a controlled burning of industrial chemicals that have been spilled can be done. Vinyl chloride is a carcinogen which can contaminate drinking water supplies. Five train cars released massive plumes of smoke across eastern Ohio, Pennsylvania. It raised concerns about the air quality and water quality in Ohio River Basin.<\/p>\n<p>DeWine spoke to journalists on Tuesday afternoon <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=iux2SeIjdNo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Press conference<\/a> Members of the Ohio National Guard were sent with protective gear to conduct air tests in the area where the derailment occurred. These tests purportedly proved that the air quality was satisfactory. \u201cbasically what it was prior to the actual train crash.\u201d Residents continue to suffer from worrisome symptoms, according to the official.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA large number of firefighters, police officers, sheriff\u2019s deputies, and state troopers have experienced many symptoms including a bad cough, headaches, sore throat, and diarrhea,\u201d One first responder <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/unlike-anything-i-have-ever-seen-ohio-first-responder-says-residents-suffer-from-health-issues-after-train-derailment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Telled<\/a> The Daily Wire reported Tuesday afternoon that his symptoms continued for two days even after he left the area. \u201cThe same symptoms were reported by residents who did not evacuate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Environmental Protection Agency shared information with residents a few days after the chemicals had been burned. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/company-responsible-for-ohio-train-derailment-issues-list-of-cancer-causing-substances-released\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">List<\/a> Other industrial chemicals were also released at the site of derailment provided by Norfolk Southern. A train carrying ethylene glycol monobutylether currently has an Anonymous Train Car \u201cunknown status,\u201d Norfolk Southern says that the amount of ethylhexylacrylate in another vehicle is still acceptable. \u201cpending.\u201d While the former can cause dizziness, headaches, nausea, vomiting, or nausea, laboratory tests have shown that it is a carcinogen.<\/p>\n<p>DeWine stated to reporters that he had discussed with Governor Josh Shapiro, D-PA, for hours whether the train would explode. This could have sent shrapnel through East Palestine. Or, if the controlled burning would allow the chemicals into the atmosphere. They chose the latter. \u201ctwo bad options\u201d After consulting with regulators, DeWine said that he spoke to executives at Norfolk Southern.
