You should and can expect no less from us going forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It all started when Rock made a joke about Smith\u2019s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, having a bald head. This led to the \u201cMen in Black\u201d Actor to walk up on the stage and slap Rock across his face. Smith said after the slap. \u201cKeep my wife\u2019s name out your f***ing mouth!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Later, it was criticised by the Academy for allowing Smith to stay in the audience while he took the stage after winning. \u201cBest Actor\u201d His performance in \u201cKing Richard.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The company sent out a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/the-academy-awards-responds-after-will-smith-hits-chris-rock-in-the-face-over-joke-about-wife\">Tweet<\/a> Several hours later, the event was over. \u201cThe Academy does not condone violence of any form. Tonight we are delighted to celebrate our 94th Academy Awards winners, who deserve this moment of recognition from their peers and movie lovers around the world.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The organization later launched an investigation into how the incident was handled. Smith was then banned from Academy events and held that position for a period of ten years.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cKing Richard\u201d Multiple times, actor publicly apologized and resigned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cViolence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive,\u201d Smith, a href=&#8221;https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/will-smith-issues-apology-to-chris-rock-says-he-was-out-of-line-and-wrong&#8221;>captioned<\/a> Instagram post from the day following the 2022 Academy Awards. \u201cMy behavior at last night\u2019s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada\u2019s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris,\u201d He went on. \u201cI was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be.
