Making the unorthodox decision to cancel the movie in 2022 and instead take a tax deduction.<\/p>\n<p>The actress, 28, claimed that she was not contacted by the actor. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/hollywood\">Studio<\/a> The decision to cancel. The company spent $90million on the project, but it was pulled after receiving negative reviews from viewers during screenings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI found out like the rest of you,\u201d Grace shared <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2023\/film\/columns\/leslie-grace-batgirl-canceled-interview-dc-studios-1235519751\/\">Variety<\/a> During a recent interview. \u201cAnd then my phone just started blowing up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI thought I was getting punked, but it checked out,\u201d Brendan Fraser, Brendan&#8217;s co-star, said that he was shocked to learn that the film would never be seen by audiences.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen we were expecting XYZ amount of support and money to expand scenes \u2014 to do pickup shots and those kinds of things \u2014 that was a gut punch,\u201d He continued. \u201cBut then we learned that it was in the interest of writing down some debt? That part really stung.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Grace acknowledged there were difficulties during filming but it wasn&#8217;t enough for her to cancel the entire episode.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not going to lie to you. In every film, there are obstacles, and our film was nothing short of that. Half of the shoot was night shoots in Scotland, where it never stops raining,\u201d She spoke. \u201cSo there were obstacles, but at the end of the day, because of the incredible crew, nothing that ever got in the way of us delivering what we knew we wanted to deliver for this film. At least from what I was able to see.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The actress said she saw a rough cut of the unfinished movie and still can\u2019t understand why it was never completed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI got to see the film as far as it got to; the film wasn\u2019t complete by the time that it was tested,\u201d Grace explained. \u201cThere were a bunch of scenes that weren\u2019t even in there. They were at the beginning of the editing process, and they were cut off because of everything going on at the company.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She concluded: \u201cBut the film that I got to see \u2014 the scenes that were there \u2014 was incredible. There was definitely potential for a good film, in my opinion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What about the future? \u201cBatgirl,\u201d Grace says fans shouldn\u2019t give up hope just yet. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve definitely had conversations about Batgirl\u2019s future and how Batgirl can make a resurgence. I think fans are looking forward to seeing that,\u201d She spoke.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ll just see where that takes us; I can\u2019t say one way or the other if that is a reality at this point,\u201d The actress continued, saying that she \u201ccan\u2019t speak too much about a future for Batgirl or guarantee anything.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe last thing that I would want to do is give folks any kind of inkling of something that I have not much control over \u2014 as we\u2019ve learned,\u201d Grace said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cBatgirl\u201d star Leslie Grace is going public with her thoughts on Warner Bros. making the shocking decision to scrap the movie in 2022 and take a tax write-off instead.
