His choice of attire however did not go down well among many.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Many fans were delighted to see Hamlin and be able to go to the Super Bowl. However, many people found his Takashi Murakami jacket of $3,000 to be too expensive.<\/p>\n<p>The jacket, which is letterman-style, features a religious theme. On the left front is a stylized image and on the right is a message. \u201cWithout end or beginning there is no day and there is no night.\u201d The jacket&#8217;s back is what most people were unhappy about. The back of the jacket features a cartoonish illustration of Christ on the Cross with the word &#8220;Responsible&#8221;. \u201cEternal\u201d It is above it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">Peterson wrote an Instagram post.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cYou should be thanking God son! This is Blasphemy!! We all fall short but cmon man! I find this disrespectful!! #grateful #goddid\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fred Taylor, an ex-NFL RB, took offense at Peterson confronting Hamlin directly and suggested that he direct message Hamlin. Taylor also attempted to explain that young people sometimes make mistakes by wearing what they shouldn\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p>Peterson still wasn\u2019t having it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut this was different! I know young people don\u2019t think at times, older as well! But with everything surrounding his situation!! This isn\u2019t one of those moments where it\u2019s a young guy not thinking,\u201d Peterson was back.<\/p>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">Peterson eventually spoke to Hamlin on the phone and raised concerns about the player\u2019s jacket. \u201cSo I spoke with @d.ham3 Damar, and we were able to discuss our thoughts as men,\u201d Peterson wrote Sunday.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned=\"\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Colmw31NnLO\/?utm_source=ig_embed&#038;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\">\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI want to be clear, I\u2019m the last person to judge anyone, and that was never my intention. However, I do feel as if the jacket was disrespectful and it was something that I needed to share,\u201d Peterson continued. \u201cI do realize everyone makes mistakes and falls short at times, so again, my intention was never to judge, just to share my opinion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDamar, I have respect and love for you and I wish you nothing but the best, but I just can\u2019t rock with that jacket. I feel like there are a lot people, young and old, looking up to you and with power and influence comes great responsibility. I apologize for offending you, I just felt offended in that moment as a man who loves and respects our Lord and Savior, Yeshua. After speaking with Damar, I have an understanding that it didn\u2019t come from a place of ill intent!\u201d He added.<\/p>\n<p>Hamlin cannot be mistaken as someone who would deliberately disrespect Jesus Christ, Christians or any other religion.<\/p>\n<p>He has indeed repeatedly done so. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/sports\/2023\/01\/29\/damar-hamlin-says-faith-fueled-his-speedy-recovery-god-using-me-as-vessel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Testimony<\/a> God has been there for him throughout his life and during his crisis.<\/p>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">But Peterson is not the only person who found Hamlin\u2019s jacket a bit odd or offensive.
