Games Montr\u00e9al<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Gunn started saying the following when he announced the first chapter in his DCU slate. \u201cSo as many of you know DC has been disconnected in film and television for a long time. And it\u2019s one of our jobs, mine and Peter\u2019s, is to come in and make sure the DCU is connected in film, television, gaming, and animation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat the characters are consistent, played by the same actors, and it works within one story,\u201d He asserted. \u201cAnd if something is outside of that like Matt Reeves\u2019 <em>Batman<\/em> or Todd Phillips\u2019 <em>Joker<\/em>, or Teen Titans GO! that it is clearly labeled as DC Elseworlds, outside of the mainstream DC continuity.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-block full\">\n<div class=\"video-player youtube\">[embedded content]<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"cb-post-title\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/boundingintocomics.com\/2023\/01\/31\/james-gunns-dcu-slate-features-tom-king-as-one-of-the-chief-architects-a-massive-red-flag-for-any-dc-fan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">James Gunn\u2019s DCU Slate Features Tom King As One Of The Chief Architects, A Massive Red Flag For Any DC Fan<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Gunn revealed, however, that the DCU was actually being planned beyond the four-year mark and possibly even six years.<\/p>\n<p>The user asked \u201cDo you realise top tier AAA games take 6yrs of development. And films take how long? How are you going to join them up in same universe?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gunn answered, \u201cFirst of all, that\u2019s an overstatement of time \u2013 it\u2019s closer to four years if you\u2019ve got everything lined up. Gunn originally claimed in his DCU slate announcement, that the upcoming <em>The Flash<\/em> Film starring Ezra Miller, a criminal, would reset the DCU.<\/p>\n<p>Gunn made the following statement in his Chapter 1 announcement video: \u201cFirst, we have\u00a0<em>Shazam! Fury of the Gods<\/em>. Shazam has always been off kind of in his own part of the DCU so he connects very well. How is Viola Davis still playing Amanda Waller? Aren\u2019t you rebooting the DCEU 100%? That includes peacemaker, the whole suicide squad and the Snyder Verse. Like you said Robert Pattinson\u2019s Batman &#038; Joaquin Phoenix\u2019s Joker is else-worlds story.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gunn answered, \u201cFlash resets many things, not all things. This lends credence to a rumor that DC&#8217;s entire slate of DCUs was announced as part of a plan to revitalize DC in order to make it more appealing to potential buyers.<\/p>\n<p>WDW Pro recently shared the details of this rumor. \u201cWarner Bros. Discovery with both DC and Harry Potter is to soft reboot the franchises in order to make them seem more viable and healthy. However, rebooting them with projects that are highly interconnected and\/or episodic in chronological consistency is not desired at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-block full\">\n<div class=\"video-player youtube\">[embedded content]<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>He explained, \u201cThe reason might surprise. Warner Bros. Discovery allegedly expects to be purchased within the next three to five years. Therefore it is not in Warner Bros. Discovery\u2019s interest to craft huge franchise worlds like seen in the MCU because such a thing would make a potential buyer beholden to this new roadmap\/story narrative.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInstead, Warner Bros.
