This is partly due to bad investments and poor quality vehicles that have led to expensive recalls. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/02\/02\/business\/ford-earnings-fourth-quarter-2022.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Report<\/a> The New York Times.<\/p>\n<p>Ford\u2019s deal with the Chinese company Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. comes after Republican Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2023-01-20\/youngkin-calls-ford-catl-battery-plant-plan-a-trojan-horse\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Removed<\/a> His state had a plan in place to attract the automaker, specifically due to its relationship to the Chinese firm.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI look forward to bringing a great company there,\u201d Youngkin, a highly successful entrepreneur, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2023-01-20\/youngkin-calls-ford-catl-battery-plant-plan-a-trojan-horse\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a> Interview last month \u201cIt won\u2019t be one that uses kind of a Trojan-horse relationship with the Chinese Communist Party in order to gain.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ford\u2019s plan is to collaborate with Contemporary Amperex Technology on the $3.5 billion battery plant that is expected to open in 2026 and employ a few thousand people. The company will attempt to reduce costs by using cheaper materials for its batteries.<\/p>\n<p>This news caused criticism and threatened congressional investigations into the company&#8217;s relationship with communist China.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWoke companies that lecture Americans about the equity agenda are always, without fail, in bed with the Chinese communists,\u201d tweeted political strategist Arthur Schwartz. \u201c@Ford to move forward with $3.5 billion EV battery plant with Chinese partner.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to The Daily Wire, a source close to the House Republican leadership said: \u201cThe closer Ford gets to the Chinese communists the closer we\u2019re going to look at their business.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re quickly approaching the point where Ford\u2019s business practices are becoming a national security threat,\u201d Source added<\/p>\n<p>One Michigan Republican strategist indicated that Republican legislators in the state should be ready to deny Ford tax incentives due to the negative effects that doing business with communist China could have on the state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFord is seeking close to a billion dollars in tax incentives from the State of Michigan,\u201d According to the strategist. \u201cThat\u2019s a billion dollars that will directly benefit the Chinese Communist Party. Republican lawmakers in Michigan should understand that this is an issue that will get national attention.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The news comes as a result of a Chinese spy ball being shot down by a U.S. aircraft after it traveled across the country, passing close to sensitive U.S. military installations.<\/p>\n<p>The threat communist China poses for the U.S. is so grave that even top Democrat lawmakers like Senator Micheal Bennett (D\u2013CO) aren&#8217;t immune. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/02\/02\/technology\/michael-bennet-tiktok-ban.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pushing<\/a> for companies like TikTok to be banned because of China\u2019s ability to use it to spy on Americans and to shape public opinion.
