But, not many know about State Voices. What is State Voices and who are they trying to contact so many voters?<\/p>\n<p><strong>ACORN Reborn<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the early 2000s, the most powerful left-of center nonprofit activism group was the ahref=&#8221;https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/acorn\/&#8221;>Association Reform Now: Community Organizations<\/a>ACORN, also known as the American Council on Religion and Nationality (or ACORN) is short. The group convened protestors, organized rallies, supported ballot initiatives to change laws, and\u00a0generally worked to move American politics leftward. ACORN was founded in Arkansas and grew to become a national organization through a network of state-level chapters that were led by the national head. These chapters worked hard in their states to increase support for left-leaning causes. ACORN was highly successful in reaching voters and mobilizing them, winning many victories up to its collapse in 2010 amid scandal.<\/p>\n<p>State Voices is essentially today\u2019s new and improved ACORN.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.statevoices.org\/our-network\/\">Operating in 25 states<\/a>State Voices organizes \u201cstate engagement tables\u201d They bring together many, if no, of the most prominent left-wing activism groups within the state. The state tables organize a variety of activist groups into a single issue group and coordinate their efforts to get out-the-vote, protests, awareness campaigns, and other activities. \u201cintersectional.\u201d The state tables include over 1,200 activists from partner groups, thousands of employees and volunteers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What makes State Voices so effective?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>State Voices is an impressive organization.<\/p>\n<p>State Voices claimed part of the credit for successful ballot measures that raised the minimum wage to Nebraska and increased taxes to Massachusetts. That\u2019s not to mention their 140 million voter contacts and 820,000 registrations that undoubtedly impacted election results in swing states. Their successes aren\u2019t new, either. State Voices will be launching its 2020 cycle. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statevoices.org\/reports\/the-2020-post-election-report\/\">reported<\/a> Making 124,000,000 voter contacts and registering 2 million voters.<\/p>\n<p>What could a single organization do to achieve so many things?<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s important to note that neither State Voices nor even their state engagement tables are operating alone. State Voices does not go out and do the heavy lifting. That\u2019s up to the state-based partners. State Voices&#8217; role is to train, equip, finance, and organize partners to boost their operations.<\/p>\n<p>State Voices is a leader in securing funding. State Voices raised $8.7 million and re-granted $9.4 million to the state engagement table in 2022. State tables distribute funds to partners. This gives State Voices an opportunity to continue collaborating and ensures that State Voices has some influence as both a funder.<\/p>\n<p>The money that isn\u2019t sent to the partners is then spent on training and equipping activists with \u201ccivic tech\u201d These tools are not normally available to small-time activists. The State Voices <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statevoices.org\/tools-for-all\/\">Tools for all<\/a> Program gives partners access <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/for-profit\/catalist\/\">Catalist<\/a>a Democrat aligned database containing information on 240,000,000 voters; the State Voices Voter Action Network which helps manage online activism campaigns by using the Catalist database; the State Voices Data Certification Program which trains activists to become \u201cdata practitioners\u201d Use the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/for-profit\/ngp-van\/\">NGP VAN<\/a> database, another of the Democratic Party\u2019s largest voter databases. State Voices has provided training for at least 520 NGP VAN since 2017. \u201cdata practitioners.\u201d \u00a0In addition, the State Voices <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statevoices.org\/reports\/2022-tools-tech-guide\/\">Tech Guide and Tools<\/a> gives aspiring activist groups a full list of all the digital wizardry tools, databases, and office equipment they might need to start up a Democratic-vote-getting nonprofit of their own.<\/p>\n<p>In exchange for all this, all State Voices asks for is a bit of their time and for all newly gathered voter information to be sent back up the chain to populate the Democratic Party\u2019s all-important voter databases. That\u2019s not merely speculation. It is a fact. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statevoices.org\/reports\/the-2020-post-election-report\/\">2020 annual report<\/a>State Voices boasted openly about the additions of its partners <em>100 million <\/em>Telephone numbers to the NGP VAN data base were sold by NGP VAN, and then sold by NGP VAN directly to almost all Democratic campaigns.<\/p>\n<p><strong>An Elegant System<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a beautifully simple scheme. State Voices, instead of starting from scratch, created a network that rivals ACORN. They enlisted existing groups to join their ranks by providing funding and access to costly, state-of the-art tools. This work charity is called State Voices. It has cost-effectively created a larger get-out the vote empire than the RNC.<\/p>\n<p>This work is not charitable, regardless of how it is described. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vox.com\/recode\/2020\/1\/7\/21055340\/mind-the-gap-silicon-valley-donors-democrats-2020-plan-140-million\">Leaked memos<\/a> Democratic super PACs (political actions committees) have confirmed that left-wing nonprofits that target minority groups with get-out-the vote policies are supported by Democratic super PACs. \u201c4 to 10 times more cost-effective\u201d When compared to traditional PAC expenditure, it is more effective at netting Democratic votes.<\/p>\n<p>State Voices and other groups can use the tax-exempt status of billionaires dead and alive to draw on the American charitable sector and spend every penny getting people in swing states from the Democratic-favoring demographics to vote.
