Stefan Weiler, head of debt capital markets in Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa; and Vince La Padula, global head of lending, deposits, and custody and CEO of JPM Wealth Workplace.<\/p>\n<h2>Memorandum\u00a0of Understanding<\/h2>\n<p>Zelenskyy\u2019s meeting with\u00a0JPMorgan senior members occurred after Yulia Svyrydenko,\u00a0Ukraine\u2019s economy minister,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/kyivindependent.com\/news-feed\/economy-ministry-jp-morgan-to-help-ukraine-attract-investments-for-reconstruction\"><\/a>\u00a0on Feb. 9 that the banking giant\u2014which manages an investment fund worth $4 trillion\u2014had agreed to help Kyiv\u00a0attract private investments to aid in\u00a0reconstruction and postwar economic growth and that the two parties had signed a memorandum\u00a0of understanding (MOU) on the matter.<\/p>\n<p>Under the MOU,\u00a0JPMorgan will advise the Ukrainian government on issues relating to\u00a0financial stabilization,\u00a0the development and coordination of strategies for refinancing and debt restructuring,\u00a0obtaining sovereign credit ratings, and the\u00a0digitization of the economy, among other things.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is important for us that every stage of the recovery process is as transparent as possible.\u00a0That is why the involvement of such institutions as JPMorgan should become a symbol of such transparency,\u201d Svyridenko spoke.<\/p>\n<p>Both parties\u00a0agreed\u00a0to include representatives of JPMorgan in the \u201cgroup of advisers and representatives of the financial investment sector of the capital market\u201d Together with BlackRock, she said.<\/p>\n<p>During their time in Kyiv,\u00a0Zelenskyy promised JPMorgan bankers that any investment in Ukraine wouldn\u2019t be a one-way street.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI understand very well that doing business and investing cannot be beneficial to only one party. We want you to invest in Ukraine and earn money,\u201d He said it, according to his office.<\/p>\n<h2>JPMorgan Pledges \u2018Full Resources\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>Zelenskyy also touted\u00a0Ukraine as an important contributor to\u00a0cyber security\u00a0and food security around the world as he laid out more reasons to invest in the country\u2019s long-term redevelopment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are proud of our long-standing support of Ukraine and committed to doing our part to lift up the country and its people.
