This measure is the latest attempt by leftists give foreigners the chance to influence the U.S. election process.<\/p>\n<p>The new bill (<a href=\"http:\/\/webserver.rilegislature.gov\/BillText\/BillText23\/HouseText23\/H5461.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">H 5461<\/a>Cities and towns would be allowed to \u201callow all residents of the municipality to vote in municipal elections for municipal officeholders regardless of the immigration status of the residents.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The measure also stipulates that the locality\u2019s board of canvassers is required to coordinate with Rhode Island\u2019s secretary of state and board of elections to \u201cdevelop the forms and instructions to implement the provisions\u201d The new law \u201cas well as any rules and regulations necessary to ensure that any ballot for municipal officeholders only is kept separate and apart from ballots distributed to [citizen] voters \u2026 and counted separately for transmission to the board of elections.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The law does not define what constitutes proof that a resident is present.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/law.justia.com\/constitution\/rhode-island\/C02.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Constitution of Rhode Island<\/a>The only \u201cpersons entitled to vote\u201d Are U.S. citizens aged 18 or older who have lived in their state and town for at least 30 days \u201cpreceding the time of voting as provided by law,\u201d You are registered to vote at the latest 30 days prior to Election Day. Despite the specific requirements laid out in the document, Democrat Rep.
