Its attempt to win the world over with a modernized Christ did not endear all those it tried to reach.<\/p>\n<p>The first commercial showed a series black-and-white photographs of children helping others in distress. The 30-second-long clip concluded with the tagline \u201cJesus didn\u2019t want us to act like adults,\u201d a reference to Christ\u2019s teaching about childlike faith in Matthew 18.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf I could see the world through the eyes of a child, what a wonderful world this would be,\u201d The song is narrated.<\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>The second ad featured a slideshow of black-and-white photos depicting heated arguments \u2014 most of them political in nature. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cJesus loved the people we hate,\u201d Before plugging the He Gets Us campaign webpage, the video was completed. <\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>These commercials give a vague, inoffensive, and uncontroversial image of Jesus to anyone who doesn&#8217;t already like Christianity. They are actually part of a larger campaign that makes radical comparisons between Christianity and Islam. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=QEEq5VTfmic&#038;t=1s\">Jesus and the U.S. border crises<\/a>The exploitation of this resource is done by corrupt cartels to gain profit and bold conflations. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=-Eg_yrpjmlY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jesus and his disciples accompanied by groups that walk the streets with him<\/a> today, \u201cchalleng[ing] authority\u201d  \u201cma[king] a lot of people uneasy,\u201d In an effort to appeal to current culture.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe look at the biography of Jesus through a modern lens to find new relevance in often overlooked moments and themes from his life,\u201d The <a href=\"https:\/\/hegetsus.com\/en\/he-gets-us-has-an-agenda\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">campaign\u2019s website states.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Campaign representatives stated that they hope to run these eye-opening ads by using an updated depiction of Christ to sympathize and understand the problems of those who are suffering. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/super-bowl-feature-two-jesus-ads-gets-us-campaign\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201care spiritually open, but skeptical\u201d<\/a> Organized religion<\/p>\n<p>These ads are, therefore, designed to look and feel like the social agenda that has made its way into every American institution during the last decade. <\/p>\n<p>However, the messages conveyed by these videos were widely rejected and smeared.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSomething tells me Jesus would *not* spend millions of dollars on Super Bowl ads to make fascism look benign,\u201d Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, Democrat Rep. and progressive darling <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AOC\/status\/1624967013817884674?s=20&#038;t=B5Bej3q4B_LurDLRYr_iTg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Quipped<\/a> Soon after the second, Twitter was notified. \u201cHe Gets Us\u201d The ad was broadcast, and her tweet received nearly 200,000 likes.<\/p>\n<p>The people who funded the campaign <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%22Hobby%20Lobby%22&#038;src=trend_click&#038;vertical=trends\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">They were subject to even more scrutiny <\/a>The following are the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2023\/02\/11\/us\/he-gets-us-super-bowl-commercials-cec\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Corporate <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2023\/02\/06\/1154880673\/jesus-commercial-super-bowl-billboard-he-gets-us-hobby-lobby-evangelical-billion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Media<\/a>Their <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/page88\/status\/1624932429206106115?s=20&#038;t=4chwfYRbj-vnWYwDgr9VBQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mouthpieces<\/a>&#8230; and outraged keyboard warriors more than the ads themselves.<\/p>\n<p>No matter how hard Christian campaigns \u2014 especially evangelical ones \u2014 like He Gets Us try to win over the world by twisting the Gospel to fit our culture\u2019s standards, they will fail. <\/p>\n<p> Don&#8217;t conform to this world <\/p>\n<p>It shouldn&#8217;t surprise that even the most modest of advertisements can be a distraction.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Instead of transforming the life of Jesus to fit our culture, let\u2019s tell the full story of Jesus &#8212;
