She noted, for example, how the pots from her dinner the night before were placed away instead of being left there the next morning.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was kind of unusual,\u201d She told jurors.<\/p>\n<p>She also found Maggie\u2019s pajamas laid out neatly on the floor of the doorway leading to the laundry room, something the housekeeper said wouldn\u2019t normally happen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat was very unusual. She wouldn\u2019t leave her clothes out like that. Not in the middle of the door like that,\u201d Turrubiate-Simpson testified. \u201cIt just didn\u2019t look right to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It looked like someone had been showering in the home as there was a puddle, a towel, a pair khaki pants, and white T-shirt.<\/p>\n<p>Turrubiate-Simpson also said that Maggie seemed reluctant to come to the family\u2019s hunting lodge the day she was killed, as she preferred to stay at the family\u2019s beach house. The housekeeper said Maggie had told him that Alex had asked his wife to go to the hunting lodge.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe kind of sounded like she didn\u2019t want to come home,\u201d Turrubiate-Simpson testified.<\/p>\n<p>The housekeeper also spoke about Alex Murdaugh\u2019s attire changing on the day his wife and son were murdered. She said that he was wearing khaki pants with a seafoam polo shirt and khaki pants. This snap was taken by Paul Murdaugh earlier that day. Police interviewed Murdaugh after the murders wearing shorts and a clean white shirt. Turrubiate-Simpson stated that she washed one pair of khakis and never saw the polo or shoes Murdaugh wore.<\/p>\n<p>Turrubiate\u2013Simpson testified that Murdaugh tried to tell Turrubiate\u2013Simpson that he was wearing something else on the day of the murders than the polo he remembered.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt didn\u2019t feel like he was inquiring,\u201d Turrubiate-Simpson testified. \u201cIt felt more like he was trying to convince me of the shirt that he was wearing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Defense attorneys used the housekeeper\u2019s testimony to claim the crime scene wasn\u2019t properly protected.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A housekeeper who worked for disgraced former South Carolina attorney Alex Murdaugh\u2019s family testified Friday at his trial that she was asked to clean the family home the morning after Murdaugh\u2019s wife and son were murdered.
