She had caused outrage by arguing, in a <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2019\/07\/26\/heres-amy-wax-really-said-immigration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Speech<\/a> The National Conservatism Conference argued that the United States should encourage immigrants from other countries with similar values as its own to help them succeed. These nations &#8220;remain mostly white for now,&#8221; Wax stated that her approach implied that &#8220;our country will be better off with more whites and fewer non-whites&#8221;\u2014even though, she stipulated, the policy &#8220;doesn&#8217;t rely on race at all.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/19-Sept.-2019-Recording-Ruger.mp3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">audio<\/a> from the town hall obtained through the <em>Washington Free Beacon<\/em>Ruger explained to students that Wax had made comments about Ruger. &#8220;racist&#8221; They had caused &#8220;harm.&#8221; He also suggested they could have grounds to fire her. &#8220;sucks&#8221; Wax &#8220;still works here,&#8221; Ruger stated, adding that &#8220;only way to get rid of a tenured professor&#8221; It is possible to &#8220;process&#8221; This is it &#8220;gonna take months.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The setting for a long-running battle over academic freedom was set by the town hall.
