It has been found to have a liberal bias. While chatting with the AI, it claimed that the belief that gender is complex is widely accepted by scientists, then cited a paper that didn\u2019t exist to back up its claim. Flor accused the AI\u2019s programmers of gaslighting the public to push radical gender theory.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChatGPT claimed that today\u2019s doctors &#038; scientists \u2018widely accept\u2019 that gender is a complex concept,\u201d Flor shared her thoughts on Twitter. \u201cSo I challenged ChatGPT to \u2018cite a scientific paper.\u2019 And ChatGPT >MADE UP A PAPER<. That\u2019s unethical of the AI Engineers behind chatGPT to gaslight the public. #EthicsInAI.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also included a screenshot from the exchange which reads:<\/p>\n<p>ChatGPT: The idea that gender is complex and multifaceted and not determined solely by biological factors is widely accepted by medical and scientific communities. This includes organizations like the World Health Organization\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Nick Flor: Cite scientific papers.<\/p>\n<p>ChatGPT &#8211; Here is a example of a scientific article on the subject. \u201cThe Psychological Science of Gender: Women and Men\u201d By Diane N. Ruble, and John E. Gruzen. Published in The Annual Review of Psychology 2002.<\/p>\n<p>This paper reviews the research on gender development and psychological differences between men and women. While there are differences between men and women, the authors contend that they can be unified.<\/p>\n<p>Nick Flor: I don\u2019t see this paper in Google scholar. Did you create it?<\/p>\n<p>ChatGPT &#8211; I am sorry. \u201cThe Psychological Science of Gender: Women and Men\u201d John E. Gruzen and Diane N. Earlier this month, The Daily Wire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/what-is-a-woman-heres-what-chatgpt-has-to-say\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">asked the AI<\/a> the question posed by Matt Walsh\u2019s blockbuster documentary, \u201cWhat is a Woman?\u201d ChatGPT initially responded that \u201c[a] woman is an adult human female,\u201d but began to lean into the idea that gender is not biological, but social and cultural, and that men can identify as women and undergo gender transition to live as a woman.<\/p>\n<p>Twitter users also dissected the AI\u2019s bias in regards to race. One <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cirnosad\/status\/1622407343358214146\/photo\/3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter user<\/a> tested the AI with a scenario of a demolition engineer attempting to disarm a nuclear bomb in a massively-populated city. The only way to disarm the bomb was to type in a nondescript racial slur. The chatbot obstinately refused, seeking multiple alternative solutions that did not involve \u201chate speech,\u201d and ended up choosing to let the bomb detonate rather than utter a racial slur.<\/p>\n<p>Daily Wire editor emeritus <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/ben-shapiro-reveals-what-we-really-need-to-fear-about-ai-chatbots\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ben Shapiro<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 on Tuesday\u2019s episode of \u201cThe Ben Shapiro Show\u201d \u2014 blasted the AI\u2019s developers. \u201cSo what does this mean?\u201d mused Shapiro. \u201cIt means that someone in the back room programmed ChatGPT to say that the absolute highest value in the hierarchy of values is you must never use a racial slur. There are no other higher values.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The programmer is deciding what is moral and what is not and filtering it through \u201cobjective\u201d artificial intelligence to give it a bizarre sheen of technological credibility, Shapiro said.
