However, his EEG test results were normal with no evidence that seizures had occurred.<\/p>\n<p>John looks forward to Monday&#8217;s return to the Senate.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Joe Calvello (@the_vello) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/the_vello\/status\/1624168859740561416?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 10, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\"><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u201c<\/span>John is looking forward to returning to the Senate on Monday,\u201d Calvello added.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The news of Fetterman\u2019s discharge came hours after the <em>New York Times<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/02\/10\/us\/politics\/john-fetterman-senate-stroke.html\">reported<\/a> That \u201caides and confidantes describe his transition to the Senate as a difficult period.\u201d Additionally, he might have pushed himself too far on the campaign trail in the wake of his stroke, potentially setting an example. \u201chimself back permanently,\u201d the publication\u2019s Annie Karni wrote:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">However, his introduction to the Senate was described by his aides as difficult. He had to attend caucus meetings and committee meetings. It was also difficult for him to appear in public at White House events, the State of the Union address and other events.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">A neurological condition that affects his hearing is the most apparent disability. He has auditory processing problems, which means that he must rely on a tablet to translate what is being said. His hearing problems are unpredictable and can get worse in stressful situations. When it\u2019s bad, Mr. Fetterman has described it as trying to make out the muffled voice of the teacher in the \u201cPeanuts\u201d Cartoon, whose words couldn&#8217;t be deciphered.<\/p>\n<div class=\"css-53u6y8\">\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">The stroke \u2014 after which he had a pacemaker and defibrillator implanted \u2014 also took a less apparent but very real psychological toll on Mr. Fetterman. It has been less than a year since the stroke transformed him from someone with a large stature that suggested machismo \u2014 a central part of his political identity \u2014 into a physically altered version of himself, and he is frustrated at times that he is not yet back to the man he once was. He had to accept the possibility that he might have caused his own problems by not getting enough rest during the campaign. He continues to push himself in ways his family and friends worry will be detrimental.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In October, Fetterman\u2019s physician, Dr. Clifford Chen, MD, who apparently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/10\/19\/physician-who-cleared-john-fetterman-for-work-donated-to-his-campaign-last-year\/\">contributed<\/a> to the candidate\u2019s campaign, wrote a letter saying\u00a0he \u201chas no work restrictions and can work full duty in public office,\u201d as Breitbart News\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/10\/24\/dr-s-letter-fetterman-auditory-processing-disorder-symtoms-persist\/\">reported<\/a>.
