Mike DeWine\u2019s press conference in East Palestine.<\/p>\n<p>The video shows members of the Ohio State Highway Patrol and Ohio National Guard Adjutant Gen John Harris approaching Lambert while he was reporting live in a school gymnasium. \u201cI instinctively put my hands on his chest to keep him from bumping into me, which I felt was inevitable if I had not protected myself,\u201d Harris claimed Harris in the statement.<\/p>\n<p>Lambert was warned by several law enforcement officers to get out of the gym or face arrest.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo you know how quickly our lawyers can get me out?\u201d Lambert replied. \u201cI\u2019m going to listen [to the briefing] because it\u2019s my job. I\u2019m trying to listen and he [Harris] escalated it with me. I\u2019m doing my job that\u2019s covered by the First Amendment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lambert refused to leave the gym despite being asked several times. However, he was quickly released.<\/p>\n<p>DeWine said Wednesday night that he didn\u2019t ask for any reporters to be arrested and that it\u2019s normal for reporters to speak on TV during his press conferences.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhoever was arrested had every right to be reporting and doing what they do every single day,\u201d He stated.<\/p>\n<p>Over the weekend, journalists from all over the country traveled to East Palestine (Ohio) after officials warned that burning chemicals could pose a serious health risk or cause an explosion. Officials vowed to charge people with misconduct during an emergency if they refused to leave \u2014 with upgraded charges if children were at risk.<\/p>\n<p>Officials decided to control the release of chemicals in order to reduce the danger of explosion.
