Version: 4.0.47-->\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/J.-Edgar-Hoover-FBI-Building-00657-1200x800-1.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\" alt=\"image\"   style=\"display:none\"><\/div>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-fbi\">FBI<\/a>\u2019s national office on Feb. 9 repudiated a reported internal memo that warned about a connection between so-called \u201cradical-traditionalist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-catholics\">Catholics<\/a>\u201d And \u201cracially or ethnically motivated violent extremists.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Epoch Times was told by the bureau that the information had been internally distributed \u201cfield office product\u201d About \u201cracially or ethnically motivated violent extremism does not meet the exacting standards of the FBI.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUpon learning of the document, FBI Headquarters quickly began taking action to remove the document from FBI systems and conduct a review of the basis for the document,\u201d According to the FBI National Press Office. \u201cThe FBI is committed to sound analytic tradecraft and to investigating and preventing acts of violence and other crimes while upholding the constitutional rights of all Americans and will never conduct investigative activities or open an investigation based solely on First Amendment protected activity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the statement, it is noted that \u201cour standard practice is to not comment on specific intelligence products\u201d However, it states that \u201cthis particular field office product\u201d This was \u201cdisseminated only within the FBI.\u201d This document \u201cdoes not meet the exacting standards of the FBI,\u201d It reads.<\/p>\n<p>This statement was made in response to a question regarding a report by Kyle Seraphin (an ex-FBI special agent), who published the internal FBI memo via The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uncoverdc.com\/2023\/02\/08\/the-fbi-doubles-down-on-christians-and-white-supremacy-in-2023\/\">UncoverDC website<\/a>.\u00a0Seraphin, himself a whistleblower who was suspended by the bureau in June 2022, said that he obtained the document from an FBI whistleblower.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe FBI\u2019s Richmond Division would like to protect Virginians from the threat of \u2018white supremacy,\u2019 which it believes has found a home within Catholics who prefer the Latin Mass,\u201d Seraphin wrote for UncoverDC. \u201cAn intelligence analyst within the Richmond Field Office of the FBI released in a new finished intelligence product dated January 23, 2023, on Racially or Ethnically Motivated Violent Extremists (RMVE) and their interests in \u2018Radical-Traditionalist Catholics\u2019 or RTCs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>His report included screenshots of the purported document, dated Jan. 23, which cites the left-wing Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) that identified several RTC \u201chate groups\u201d within the United States.<\/p>\n<p>The purported document states: \u201cRTCs are typically categorized by the rejection of the Second Vatican Council (Vatican II) as a valid church council; disdain for most of the popes elected since Vatican II, particularly Pope Francis and Pope John Paul II; and frequent adherence to anti-Semtic, anti-immigrant, anti-LGBTQ, and white supremacist ideology.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRadical-traditionalist Catholics compose a small minority of overall Roman Catholic adherents and are separate and distinct from \u2018traditionalist Catholics\u2019 who prefer the Traditional Latin Mass and pre-Vatican II teachings and traditions, without the more extremist ideological beliefs and violent rhetoric.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The report, which came from the FBI Richmond office, also alleged that there\u2019s an \u201congoing convergence of the far-right white nationalists\u2019 movement and RTCs\u201d that was \u201cfurther demonstrated through the increase in hostility toward abortion rights advocates on social media sites in the lead up to and the aftermath of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women\u2019s Health Organization decision that overturned Roe v. Wade\u201d in the summer of last year.<\/p>\n<p>Seraphin told the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/2023\/02\/08\/whistleblower-docs-fbi-cites-southern-poverty-law-center-in-report-on-radical-traditionalist-catholic-ideology\/\">Daily Signal<\/a> that when he worked at the FBI building in Quantico, Virginia, the bureau often got false reports that were provided by the SPLC. Over the years, conservatives have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/splc-hate-map-responses\">criticized<\/a> the group for unfairly targeting conservative and religious groups.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe got briefings that SPLC was not legitimate when I was at Quantico,\u201d he told the Daily Signal this week, noting that\u00a0\u201ca real intelligence product would quote [SPLC] and say, \u2018unsubstantiated.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other than the SPLC, the field office report also cited articles from Salon.com, a far-left media outlet, that targeted Nick Fuentes and Catholic groups.
